Location

The Cathedral City of Ely is located 14 miles north of Cambridge, on the A10

which links Cambridge with King’s Lynn. The City benefits from a train link to

Cambridge, King’s Lynn, Norwich and Peterborough, with London Kings Cross

being reached in 1h 10 mins.

Ely is set for significant growth with around 5,500 new dwellings planned in the

Councils spatial vision up to 2025. The principle area of growth is Ely North,

comprising 3,300 new dwellings, which is within walking distance.

Ely Leisure Village is highly visible from the A10 Ely by-pass, situated on the

western edge of the City. It lies adjacent to Ely’s sports clubs and the site for a

new council swimming and leisure centre.

The Development

Ely Leisure Village will comprise a family leisure destination anchored by a 6

screen Cineworld. New restaurant units will be arranged either side of the

cinema entrance together with further drive-thru and take-away units on the

A10 frontage. The scheme will be accessed from Downham Road and will

benefit from 380 free car parking spaces.
