Are you ready for a challenge and an opportunity? As conference Vice President, my team and I would like to offer both. We have prepared one of the most unique combinations of sessions and workshops available to you across North America.

As Project Managers and/or Business Analysis Professionals, you are often tasked with managing teams, predicting shifting scenarios and ensuring careful direction, all while understanding the importance of the bottom line. Our conference, ProjectSummit*BusinessAnalystWorld is designed to create scenarios that deliver these skill-set enhancing situations.

Whether it’s through classroom-style sessions by recognized experts and innovators or peer-to-peer casual conversations, the learning process will be natural and above all, fun!

Along with gaining knowledge and making new acquaintances, it’s important to remind you that we are a PMI® and IIBA Registered Education Provider. Attendees can claim one credit for every hour of education, up to 19 in total over 3 days, which goes a long way to renewing your certification.

I encourage you to take advantage of all the learning and networking opportunities this event provides. Please do not hesitate to contact me directly if you have any questions!

Amy Ruddell | Vice President, Business UnitProjectSummit*[email protected]

2020 KEYNOTE SPEAKERS

WE’RE DROWNING IN DATA! ARE YOU PREPARED TO HELP?

SLAYING YOUR ORGANIZATIONAL DRAGONS (BEFORE THEY SLAY YOU)

YOU WILL BE FOUND: 5 KEY STRATEGIES FOR LIVING YOUR BEST CAREER

The title of a recent HBR article by Randy Bean and Tom Davenport, says it all, “Companies are Failing in Their Efforts to Become Data-Driven.” The research results they cite from NewVantage Partners are unequivocable: People AND process are the number 1 obstacle. For this to significantly shift, the authors state that organizations must address “cultural barriers to business adoption.” They didn’t say, “What’s needed is more advanced technology,” or “Get everyone to think like a data scientist” or “Better data visualizations are needed.” Did you know that: • Being data-driven is an impossible goal … and that another outcome can drive cultural success? • Observations based on data differ wildly from insights and that only insights can drive transformation and innovation? • Communicating findings from data will likely fall flat if data in any form is included? If you’re interested in learning the answers to these questions, this Keynote is for you! In this Keynote, Lori will reveal several “mythconceptions” that we’re routinely taught to believe that cause cultural barriers to adoption. Learn what you can do as a PM or BA to help your enterprise create a more connected, collaborative culture and gain meaningful business benefits from data.

Beware! Beyond Here Be Dragons! They cause nothing but pain, heartache, and immeasurable frustration. They have sacked cities, scorched the ground to make the land inhospitable, and caused entire empires to fall. Dragons! They’re the worst! Well, then get ready for a shock, noble knights…the dragons we fight everyday, with whom we are entwined in an eternal struggle, are winning…which, obviously, is not good for us. In fact, there are 7 dangerous, dastardly dragons that dominate, preventing our organizations (and us!) from achieving our full potential. No matter your industry, sector, or market, we all deal with dragons; some are just little baby dragons, best to be dealt with before they grow too large, because those older dragons make victory much more difficult. But not impossible. So grab your sword, your shield, and your shouts…we’ve dragons to slay!

There are times in our careers where we feel lost, unappreciated, undervalued and stuck. Sometimes, the overwhelming feeling of change breaks us down. We want to disappear and take the first job offer that comes our way. Maybe we are jealous of another person who is already living their great life. You say, “I am better than them so why do they make twice as much as I do?” There is a better way. Let’s learn how to deal with change and be proud of your great career. It is time to free your mind, be valued, get appreciated, realize help and know you will be found!

Business Leaders, Managers, and Directors may be brilliant leaders in one situation and do not have the same results in another. Management gurus agree: Anyone can lead, not everyone can be a successful leader. The previously embraced command-and-control techniques are increasingly ineffective. Today’s business environment demands leaders to be alert, agile, enterprising, and skilled in the art of diplomacy. As a leader, it’s imperative to articulate who you are, and what you stand for, and why you’re excited to lead your team. Are these areas you feel you need to develop? Do you have a compass to guide you on the journey of leading through challenging times, your teams, stay flexible in dealing with them; try to respond to them in ways that address their needs and interests. If so, join us for this Keynote “Know your Leadership Compass: A Roadmap to Lead with Passion and Purpose.” It is a highly-interactive reflective process that sets a path to transformational leadership. Participants will receive a navigational direction to support others as they assert their leadership maturity and learn how their thinking and behavior impact the way they lead others.

“Project 911” is a day-long interactive project management simulation. Workshopparticipants will be engaged in learning and exercising key project management methods by working through realistic project recovery scenarios. The morning’s activities will focus on proper project initiation.

By mid-day, a challenge will be introduced, setting up the project recovery scenarios. How will the teams react? What will the teams decide? They will need to carefully determine their project’s destiny!

Badass Business Analysis Techniques has been the biggest selling workshop in the history of Project Summit, Project World and Business Analysis World. It only makes sense that it is time for part 2! There are 100’s of techniques that we use for customer experience, business analysis, project management and more. The first class we shared 20 new modern techniques.

Well let’s learn 20 new more! This dynamic, fun and interactive workshop has one goal. You will learn and actively practice over 20 newtechniques to help you elicit, analyze, facilitate and more that you can employ immediately back on the job.

Does your product backlog feel a little light? Are you struggling to keep analysis tasks a few iterations ahead of development? Yes, there is a place for business analysis in Agile, even if your organization isn’t adopting an Agile approach.

Join us to learn modern techniques that will create relatable and organized requirements that provide the value stakeholders are looking for.

This hands-on workshop aims to giveattendees innovative approaches totechniques to work WITH stakeholders for measurable results. Learn how to structure a measurable and actionable plan for working with stakeholders while improving your own skill by practicing elicitation, problem

resolution and dealing with conflict thatenable change efforts. Then measure, deliver and report on positive change efforts well beyond the basic lesson learned session while having some fun!
