MAIN IDEA :To create an irregular, geometric space that evokes emotion and promotes creativity as the structure is made for creative performance, but also a place for relaxation.

My aim is to make the building do two things:

Be aesthetically pleasing in its form

Also be functionalSo basically every feature would serve a function

1. The irregular form would enhance the acoustics inside the building.

2. The irregular cubic seating represents a geometric space but also creates a better view for the audience.

3. The entrance deck represents the hierarchy between a more social area and the less noisy area that can be used for seating for making use of the wifi facilities or just to relax.

4. The tower would be the main feature and also the actual core of the structure:

o It influences the triangular form.

o Promotes creativity, 2m from the ground would be used as the container for the wifi connection and the top 3m would be used as the main feature.

o Along with its triangular form, it would have diagonal slots running over the front of it which would emit light from outside.

o This would be achieved by inserting tubular skylights from the outside of the core through to its hollow centre where daylight would be reflected and emitted.

o This is also how I would

THE WOODEN HOUSE

The house is built by stacking 350mm square logs together and was designed by Sou Fujimoto Architects in Japan.

What I like about this structure is how people experience spaces three-dimensionally.

It creates a new experience for inhabitants and various distances and

There are no separations of walls, floors and ceilings.

A floor could become a chair, ceiling or wall form various positions

MILLER OUTDOOR THEATRE The original theatre was designed by

William Ward Watkin In 1996, the theatre was refurbished to be

a tent-like structure. Seating was provided for 1 705 patrons

with 20 wheelchair spaces and a 7 400m2 sloping lawn that accommodates 4 500 more.

In 2010, the theatre provided entertainment for more than 430 000

It has earthwork to raise the hill’s seating area

Concrete in seating resurfaced.

Simplicity is the key to this tent-like building and its folded roof consists of clean lines and cobweb bracing which adds to making it and unusually attractive structure.
