Funding application deadline for 2016 entry is 12 January 2016.

The application writing workshops offer practical advice on how to plan your application and structure your research proposal.

Choose from one of three dates and locations:

• Leicester – 11 November, 1.30 pm - 3.30 pm• Peter Williams Lecture Theatre, Fielding Johnson South Wing, University of Leicester

• Birmingham – 14 November, 10.00 am - 5.00pm• Reception of Muirhead Tower, University of Birmingham

• Nottingham - 21 November, 1:30 pm – 4.00pm• Newton building, Nottingham Trent University, City campus; Room NEWLT5

The Application• Your application form AND 2 academic references • You apply for a place at your chosen institution first, then it is passed

on to M3C

• The form is made up of 2 sections, each with a word limit of 2000 characters INCLUDING THE SPACES. You need to cover the 3 Ps- Person, Place, Preparedness, Proposal

Other DTPs

• All of this information probably applies to other DTPs (e.g. the White Rose) but you need to check their preferences and deadlines

• You can only apply to one institution per DTP, but you can apply to multiple DTPs

University Scholarships

CAL Doctoral Scholarships• http://

www.birmingham.ac.uk/postgraduate/funding/College-of-Arts-and-Law-Doctoral-Scholarships.aspx• If you apply for M3C and are not successful, you will be automatically

considered for one of the CAL Doctoral Scholarships.• The awards cover both full-time and part-time PhDs, and cover tuition

fees for up to 3 years of PhD research, plus £11,000 towards living expenses for FT students (adjusted pro-rata for PT students).
