• It is the only professional volunteer network in Chile
• It was founded in 2001 in Santiago, Chile and in 2004 set up its first regional office in Puerto Montt, Lakes Region

• The non-profit sector has a long tradition playing an important part in the social development of our nation.

Background Origen
• Young professionals elaborated an initiative that would allow society to transcend (trascender in Spanish) through providing service to others.
Mission
• The mission is to offer socially motivated professionals with a wish to make a concrete contribution, the opportunity to help professionalize non-profit organizations dedicated to overcoming poverty.
Vision
• The vision is to promote professional volunteering in order to favor the integration of different social worlds, the transcendence of people and to contribute to overcoming poverty.
Programas
• Professional volunteering program: Professional consulting requested by NPOs working against poverty. Consulting is done by our volunteer professional network and aims to provide tools to professionalize the organizations.
• Regional development program: Replication of the model in other regions of the country. Currently there is a branch in Puerto Montt and soon to be in Antofagasta, followed by Concepción and Valparaiso.
•Organization and Volunteer strengthening program: Fundación Trascender-Collect GfK’s National Study of Volunteering, Project breakfasts, Seminars and Strategic Alliances

3Fundación Trascender is commited to the success of each project. Thus, it tracks their development in order to provide advice as much to the volunteers as to the institutions. Finally evaluates the work done, goals met and the level of satisfaction.

Proyectos•Professional consulting • With a clear goal, limited scope and defined schedule • Volunteers assign a weekly average of 2 hours during an approximately 5 month period • The project must aim towards the development of professional skills within the organization, optimize human resources (avoiding dependency on the volunteer), achieve concrete results and produce a multiplying effect in the institution • The goal is that – little by little - the organization changes into a social enterprise, whose efforts are more effective in eradicating poverty.

Generar alternativa de financiamiento que disminuya la dependencia de las donaciones y se relacione con la misión de María Ayuda. Se decidió formar una OTEC que imparta cursos de habilidades psicosociales en empresas.
Evaluación de viabilidad económica de la OTEC. Los profesionales voluntarios, Matías Berndt, gerente general de Dimerco, y Dominique Soulodre, publicista, con la asesoría de Fundación Trascender, diseñaron y entregaron los resultados de una encuesta orientada a conocer la disponibilidad de las empresas a comprar capacitaciones de este tipo y las temáticas de interés.
La OTEC María Ayuda recibió su certificación y está comercializando los cursos.

Improve low level of language in 650 minors from kindergartens, from Fundación Brazos Abiertos. It was diagnosed it was necessary to involve the parents in order to produce a greater impact.
In March of 2006, a program was begun that included a series of measures within the kindergartens and the application of the Handbook of Stimulation for Parents elaborated by a volunteer professional. In April 19% of the children reached the level normal language development. This percentage went to 57% in the July evaluation

Marcela Fuenzalida, professional volunteer, designer elaborated the poster and slogan for the campaign.
The campaign “luca por nuca” was promoted in the Roberto del Río Hospital, El Mercurio newspaper, Universidad Andrés Bello and Euroamérica, and they consequently signed 400 partners with contributions averaging $2,500 per month.
