    Program Requirements Advanced standing is available for students graduating from accounting diploma programs.

    Students graduating from two-year business - accounting programs may be eligible foradmission into second year, requiring a modified timetable to accommodate missing year-one and year-two courses. Students graduating from three-year business administration -accounting programs may be eligible for admission into third year after completing a bridge.Students graduating from co-op programs in accounting will receive credit for two co-opwork terms.

    Conestoga College has been granted a consent by the Minister of Training, Colleges andUniversities to offer this applied degree for a seven-year term starting July 21 2009.

    Conestoga College shall ensure that all students admitted to the above named programduring the period of consent will have the opportunity to complete the program within areasonable time frame. Application to the Ministry for renewal of the consent to deliver is aprescribed and cyclical requirement for all degree programs at all Ontario colleges.

    International Business Management(Bachelor of Business Administration) (Co-op) #1172CNew: Optional specializations in Years 3 and 4 - HumanResource Management or Supply Chain ManagementWhether your dream is to work in thriving cities like London, Beijing or NewYork, or to work for a local company that deals in worldwide trade, the dynamicInternational Business Management degree at Conestoga will put you on theright track. This four-year, co-op Bachelor of Business Administration programis designed to prepare students to manage international business practicesrelated to human resources and operations. The goal is to provide graduateswith the ability to bring people, process and technology together to achieveimproved performance in domestic or international enterprises.

    At the end of Year 2, students have the option of specializing in HumanResource Management (HRM), Supply Chain Management (SCM) or both.The Ministry has also approved additional specializations in MarketingManagement, Sustainability Management and Project Management and thereare plans to launch them over the next few years.

    Program highlights include three paid co-op terms, two major consultingprojects, student exchange opportunities with ten universities around the world,and an optional extracurricular Global Citizenship Certificate.

    This international degree program meets a variety of accreditationrequirements:

    - Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) - students can write aqualification exam after completing the Project Management course in Year 2.

    - Forum for International Trade Training (FITT) - after completing four FITTskills accredited courses in the first two years, students can write a FITT skillsassessment in order to qualify for a FITT Certificate.

    - Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) - graduates of the SCM streamwill be well positioned to write the CSCP exam with minimal accreditationmake-up courses.

    - Certified Production and Inventory Manager (CPIM) graduates of theSCM stream will be well positioned to write all five CPIM exams with minimalaccreditation make-up courses.

    - Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) - the HRM stream coversall the required courses. Upon completion of all ten courses with a cumulativeaverage of 70% and no mark less than 65%, graduates can write the NationalKnowledge Exam to become a CHRP Candidate. At least three years of workexperience are required to become a CHRP.

    - Canadian Institute of Management (CIM) - upon completion of two years ofmanagerial work experience, graduates will have met all requirements.

    Graduates of this program have already been accepted into the MBA Co-opprogram at McMaster University, the MBET program at the University ofWaterloo and the one-year Bachelor of Education program at LakeheadUniversity.

    DIPLOMABusiness #0062 [AD]The Business program provides a broad but integrated education in the fieldof business, with particular emphasis on small- and medium-sized enterprises(SMEs). Areas of study include English, accounting, finance, marketing,manufacturing, and personnel management, as well as computer applicationsin business such as word processing, spreadsheet analysis, databasemanagement and computerized accounting. This innovative and flexiblebusiness program is delivered in three different formats, some allowing you tocomplete your program in a shorter period of time than the typical two years.

    Program Information Two-year Ontario College Diploma program for the September intake dates. The Janua

    May intakes are delivered in four consecutive semesters or 16 months. The program isavailable part-time.

This involves a straight transfer with no additional coursesrequired. Availability is limited. Students wishing to transfer beyond Semester 3 are noteligible for the co-op option.

    Upon completion of the Business - Marketing Accelerated program, students who wish toproceed with the non co-op option of the Business Administration - Marketing program willhave an extended break of two semesters.

    Business - Purchasing #1282This two-year purchasing program is designed to prepare the graduatefor a professional career in the growing field of supply chain and logisticsmanagement. Graduates of this program will find success in the public,industrial, retail/wholesale, and service sectors of the economy. Graduates ofthis program may also assume leadership roles as business professionals inareas such as purchasing/procurement, resource planning and control, supplychain management, logistics, warehousing and distribution management. Thecentral theme in the program curriculum is total cost of ownership. Businessestoday are under unprecedented competitive pressures from around the world.The Business Purchasing diploma program develops graduates with the skillsnecessary to contribute to the cost management, adaptability and qualityefforts in their organizations, thereby ensuring a competitive advantage andlong-term profitability.

    Articulation agreements exist with the Ontario Institute of the PMAC(Purchasing Management Association of Canada), which provides advancedstandings in both the Certified Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP)and the Certificate in Supply Management. Students of the program will alsohave the opportunity to write the Principles of Effective Public PurchasingCertificate, which is accredited by the Ontario Public Buyers Association.Graduates of the purchasing diploma receive full credit toward completion ofthe Business Administration Supply Chain and Operations Management three-year advanced diploma should they wish to complete it.

Students whocomplete the Purchasing program will also be able to transfer into our Supply Chain andOperations Management three-year advanced diploma program.

    Business Administration - Accounting #0011Business Administration-Accounting is one of five business administrationprograms at Conestoga College. Students in this advanced diploma programacquire the knowledge and skills necessary for careers in an intermediate-levelaccounting position, along with the fundamentals necessary for advancement

    to managerial positions. Advanced financial accounting, managerial skills,cost-accounting systems and controls, computerized accounting and incometax knowledge are emphasized. Students learn computer skills in up-to-datelabs, gaining familiarity with current versions of accounting software and otherbusiness software.

    All Conestoga Business Administration programs and the two-year Businessprogram share a similar first-year curriculum, providing a solid foundation inbusiness, and affording students the opportunity to transfer.Graduates of the Business Administration-Accounting program work in a broadrange of employment settings in all sectors of business and industry includingbanks and other financial institutions, government offices, public accountingfirms, small business, self-employment, tax preparation firms, and financialplanning firms.

    Program Information Three-year Ontario College Advanced Diploma program Location: Doon (Kitchener) Campus Start: September and January

    Note: Graduates of the Business Administration - Accounting program can apply directly to the

    third year of Conestoga Colleges Bachelor of Applied Business - Accounting, Audit andInformation Technology degree. Graduates of the three-year advanced diploma program willbe required to complete bridge modules for some courses to be qualified to enter the degreeas an advanced student. The bridge modules generally total about 71 hours and are availableonline. Diploma graduates would normally start in September and complete three workterms. Graduates with work experience may also receive credit towards one or two workterms.

    Graduate Opportunities Graduates find employment in intermediate accounting positions and have developed

    the fundamental skills required to advance to managerial positions. The Certified General Accountants Association of Ontario (CGA) recognizes many courses in this program for credittowards their professional accounting designation.
