Mercury Transit: Did You Spot It? SSI Staff caught a glimpse of the Mercury transit this morning on our 4"Star Blast Telescope! (Yes, we had a filter, no business office staff wereharmed in the making of this story). The picture below was taken with ancell phone camera held up to the telescope lense! The STAR Library Education Network (STAR_Net) is supported by a grant fromthe National Science Foundation and other funders. STAR stands for Science­Technology Activities and Resources. This ground­breaking initiative includes atraveling STEM exhibition program, the development of STEM activities for publiclibraries, a comprehensive training program that includes in­person workshopsand webinars, the development of the STAR_Net Online Community, and aresearch and evaluation program. STAR_Net is led by the Space ScienceInstitute’s National Center for Interactive Learning. Partners include theAmerican Library Association, Lunar and Planetary Institute, and the AfterschoolAlliance along with many other organizations.
