European science education projects displayed on the Scientix website :



What is it ?

a international science competition teams of 3 to 5 students (age 14 to 16) from 12 different countries presentation of their work on a science project chosen among selected resources

What for ?

to develop Inquiry Based Science Education (IBSE), in order to raise student motivation in school sciences

to create a network of enthusiastic teachers who will promote IBSE approach



A three-year project (2013 – 2016) funded by the European commission

Resources = EUPRBs Problem solving and inquiry based resources ( developed in the UK)

Topics range from space science to the impacts of the climate change.

Resources = EUPRBs = Earth and Universe Pupil Research Briefs freely available on websites teacher’s notes : timing, activities to perform, investigation details pupil’s documents : research request, scientific articles, schedule

In each country, teachers can choose among 4 to 8 translated

EUPRBs.



In each country, 2 to 4 dedicated ambassadors



In 30 countries : a Scientix National Contact Point and ambassadors.
