TROMBONE NOTATION MUTES: harmon, plunger !

Shake of the slide during glissando v.tr = vowel trill Rip= sweep through partials from given fundamental TT= tongue thunk

!Fast, staccato articulations

Focused sound during above technique Less-focused sound Sound is very unclear

Diamond noteheads indicate sung pitch (can be octave higher) Arrows indicate plunger movements

Split tone Spit –squeal = high register squeal with a little spit in the sound, producing a hissing, balloon-like effect !

PERCUSSION NOTATION PLECTRA: timbale sticks, brushes/rakes, Superball mallet

!!!Run one hand from rim to center of drum while other hand plays on rim (‘tak’), producing a pitch glissando
