Greetings Southside Family, If you are visiting with us, let me be the first to welcome you. We are so glad you chose to join us for worship today. Our prayer is that you will discover the presence of God as we worship today. We are a vibrant church family that seeks to love God and others. I am already looking forward to August 24-27. Those dates are our scheduled revival meeting dates. We can only schedule revival dates, God is the only One that can bring true revival. Revival meetings are scheduled in part for revitalization and evangelism. We will come on consecutive nights seeking to hear from God and looking to being fully submitted to God and His glorious will. Revival meetings also present a great opportunity to invite family mem-bers and friends that are un-churched. Personally, I came to know Christ as my personal Savior at a revival meeting. Let's join together and begin to bathe our scheduled revival in prayer. Prayer is the key initiative for revival to happen. We must humble ourselves and pray and ask God to do amazing things in our midst. We need His presence to fall among us. Our guest evangelist for the week will be Don Whitt. Chris Grand-staff will be leading our time of worship. Please call these men out to God each day leading up to revival that God would use them as His vessels to pour into our lives. A very special thank you to all who contributed and served last Sunday after-noon. Our picnic in the park was a tremendous success. We had a great after-noon of fun and fellowship as a family of God. Good morning Southside,

Psalms 95: 1-3a reads, "O Come, let us sing for joy to the rock of our salvation. Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; Let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms. For the Lord is a great God." I am excited every week to have the opportunity to sing praises to our Lord and Savior. Let's come each week with a great attitude and be ready for worship. This week marks my 3rd anniversary on staff here at Southside. What a joy it has been! I pray God will continue to use me as I serve here.

We only have one more week of preparation before we open our CDC on Aug. 11th. Join us at the Open House on Sun., Aug. 10th from 2:00 - 4:00. I know you will be proud of it, I am!

It is time to sign up for the State Wide Sr. Adult Singin' to be held at our church on Sept. 18th from 10:00 a.m - 12:00 p.m. Frank Jones will be here again leading Sr. Adults in worship as we lift our voices in praise to our Lord and Savior. This is an event you will not want to miss. The cost is $10.00 which includes lunch. You may turn that in to me. If I have asked you to help serve that day, your lunch will be complimentary.

Sr. Adults, do you like to occasionally go to a nice place for dinner? Then this trip is for you. We will go to the Ocean Club Restaurant in Destin, Florida on Friday, Aug. 22nd. We will take advantage of the early bird 2 for 1 special. The prices range from $21.95 to 32.95 so each person will pay half of that price. Gratuity and dessert will be extra. We will leave at 1:00 p.m. and shop a little before heading to dinner at 5:00 p.m. Be the first to sign up!

This event is designed to help stop hunger in the Wiregrass. The

Women’s Ministry of Southside Baptist Church has been given the

opportunity to help make the bowls to be sold at the event. There is no ex-

perience necessary, only a sweet spirit and the ability to laugh at yourself. We will be making the bowls on

THURSDAY AUGUST 28th

6 - 9 PM This event is free of charge, if you donate the bowl you make to the

Empty Bowls Project. You will have the opportunity to make a bowl to

keep for yourself for a $10 fee. We will have a soup and sandwich pot-

luck during the event. Please see Amanda Barron, Lisa Hust, or Ann Stafford to sign up. There is a minimum requirement of 10 people.
