Brethren, The June stated meeting is over, the elections are completed and a new year is about to start. It is an odd feeling, how there is a sense of loss and relief all at the same time. It has been a good year and it is surprising how fast it has gone. I have seen many changes over the course of this year. I have observed changes in our teaching committee. I see young Brothers looking for things to do to become active. Some Brothers have stayed in the teaching group to assist where, I believe, they feel they are profi- cient and have developed friendships. I challenge these Brothers to develop those same friendships with the older Brothers. I also challenge the older members to extend a hand to these young enthusiasts. I have seen changes in our line officers as they learned their role and developed new skills. I believe they have become an asset to our lodge and I look forward to greater things from them in the days to come. Over the past year, I have developed many new friends and strengthened old friendships. I am humbled when I think of the many Brothers who threw their sup- port behind me this year. Without them I could never have succeeded. I would like to thank all of my officers for their assistance. Without their helping hands and enthusiasm we could never have accomplished what we have this year. I must not forget to acknowledge all of the Brothers who were there when I needed them and all of the quiet council and assistance I received from the Past Masters. In closing, I would like to congratulate our new Worshipful Master Elect. I wish him every success in the coming year. I am sure he will find that he is not alone in the lodge. There are many helping hands available, just for the asking. Our last event for this Masonic year is our Festive Board. It is an important event for our lodge and it is also a fund raiser to help support our various charities. I would like to see the tables full of familiar faces on the 16 th .

Some Brothers have stayed in the teaching group to assist where, I believe, they feel they are profi-cient and have developed friendships. I challenge these Brothers to develop those same friendships with the older Brothers. I also challenge the older

members to extend a hand to these young enthusiasts.

I have seen changes in our line officers as they learned their role and developed new skills. I believe they have become an asset to our lodge and I look forward to greater things from them in the days to come.

Over the past year, I have developed many new friends and strengthened old friendships. I am humbled when I think of the many Brothers who threw their sup-port behind me this year. Without them I could never have succeeded.

I would like to thank all of my officers for their assistance. Without their helping hands and enthusiasm we could never have accomplished what we have this year.

I must not forget to acknowledge all of

the Brothers who were there when I needed them and all of the quiet council and assistance I received from the Past Masters.

I would like to see the tables full of familiar faces on the 16th. It would be a great end to a wonderful year.

Let us with caution indulge the supposition that morality can be maintained without religion. Reason and experience both forbid us to expect that national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principle. If the freedom of speech is taken away, then dumb and silent we may be led, like sheep to the slaughter.

Famous Quotes from Brother George Washington

The Constitution is the guide which I never will abandon.

Guard against the impostures of pretended patriotism.

Arbitrary power is most easily established on the ruins of liberty abused to licentiousness

What can be so proper as the truth?

Do not conceive that fine clothes make fine men, any more than fine feathers make fine birds. A plain, genteel dress is more admired, obtains more credit in the eyes of the judicious and sensible.
