Spend only 10 minutes before service and 20 minutes after service meeting visitors, answering questions, and welcoming all. You will be equipped with pamphlets and visitor cards, and your willingness to share your personal testimony about St. John’s, as you give visitors information. Contact Annie ([email protected]).

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with you.

+ Opening Prayer
Jesus prayed that we might be one: one in spirit, one in
mission, in union and communion with each other and
with You.
Today, God, we confess our failures in accomplishing
unity, as we set aside yet another day to remind ourselves
of the task. On this World Communion Sunday, give us
eyes to recognize your reflection in the eyes of Christians
everywhere. Give us a mind to accept and celebrate our differences.
Give us a heart big enough to love your children everywhere. We
thank you for setting a table with space enough for us all!
Amen.

Together We Pray
+ Gospel Reading: Matthew 6:9-13 (NRSV)
Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name.
Your kingdom come.
Your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And do not bring us to the time of trial,
but rescue us from the evil one.

The Great Amen
The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory forever.
Amen.

Prayer of Confession
God of mercy,
we confess that we have not loved you with all our being.
We have done things which we ought not to have done,
and we have left undone things which we ought to have done.
We have built walls between neighbors and between countries, and we
have ignored the cries of those in need.
Forgive us and set us free, that we may live into the hope of your
calling, that your reign may come on earth as it is in heaven.
Through Jesus Christ we pray. Amen.
Assurance of Pardon
Hear the good news:
Christ died for us while we were yet sinners;
that proves God’s love toward us.
In the name of Jesus Christ, you are forgiven!
In the name of Jesus Christ, you are forgiven.
Glory to God. Amen.
+ The Peace
The peace of Christ Jesus be with you always.
And also with you.
Let us offer one another signs of reconciliation and love.
