Frogs belong to the animal group called amphibians. Amphibians spend part of its life on land and part in the water.

A frog begins its life inside an egg. Female frogs lay eggs in the water.

After a few weeks, the eggs hatch. Tiny tadpoles swim out of the eggs. They have a long tail and no legs.

Unlike frogs, tadpoles cannot leave the water. It breathes through gills.

The tadpole gets bigger and bigger. At about seven weeks, it grows little back legs.

After four months after hatching, the tadpole is finally a grown-up frog.
