Dear Church Family,
It has been 17 years since our last county-wide crusade. Hundreds of people accepted Jesus Christ during those crusade nights at Panther Stadium in the year 2000. This week will give us an opportunity to Tell Everyone about God’s saving grace. Overwhelmingly, unchurched people say that they would come if someone invited them. What can you do?
First, join our church’s PrayerWalk and Flyer Distribution this Saturday, September 23rd, from 9:00 a.m to 1:00 p.m. This is a perfect time for a parent and child or friends to pair up and pass out flyers to the front doors of homes throughout our city. Together this can be done in less than half of a day. But it takes hundreds of us to participate. We have divided the city into 6 zones and 50 captains are ready for you to join their team. So come on! A continental breakfast will begin at 9:00 a.m. and childcare is available through 5 years of age.
Second, make sure you and your friends attend the Tell Everyone Crusade this upcoming Sunday, September 24th, at 5:00 p.m. Dr. Fred Luter, the first African American president of the Southern Baptist Convention will be the speaker. He is an anointed preacher of the gospel. His downtown church in New Orleans was devastated during Hurricane Katrina and his congregation was scattered all the way to Houston, TX. In the years following, he preached in Houston and New Orleans and saw the church rebuilt. It is going to be an incredible night of praise.
Let’s begin a revival in our own hearts and lives today as we yield to the Lord’s leadership!
I love you in the Lord, Bro. Greg
Hey Church!
"Worthy is the Lamb who was slain. Holy, holy is He!” The story of how the
Revelaon Song came to be is pre#y amazing. A house-wife in Texas was
exhausted from managing 4 small children. A*er changing diapers, she set her
son down to play. She wanted to work on some music but her keyboard at
home was in disrepair. Not a guitar player, she decided to pick up her guitar and
play through a few chords she learned the week prior. In the process, she
created the melody with those four chords and the lyric came from some
personal study me in the book of Revelaon. From there, she presented it to
her church and in short order it was around the world.
God sll does that. He sll creates. He can take something so small and amplify
it. And now, here in Brookhaven, MS, we join a song that has impacted the
naons.
As we worship today let’s keep our eyes fixed on the majesty and glory of Christ
who is worthy of all praise.
I love you all more than you know!
Pastor Nick
