Spelling and Vocabulary Check-in.

We are learning to:

*draw on appropriate strategies to accurately spell familiar and unfamiliar words.

*understand the use of vocabulary to express greater precision of meaning, and know that words can have different meanings in different contexts.

*use morphemic, visual, syntactic, semantic and phonological strategies when spelling.

Spelling and Vocabulary Check-in:

This week we will be focusing on spelling

and vocabulary. To get started you are

going to complete a number of activities

throughout the week to identify where

you are at with your spelling and

vocabulary knowledge and understanding.

Remember to carefully read the instructions for each set of

questions then highlight or record your answer as required.

Activities could include:

Write the plural for each word.

the word that has a similar meaning to the word underlined.

a word from the first sentence to complete the second sentence.

Add the suffix given and write the new word.

Highlight the word that answers each question correctly.

Add a prefix to each word to give it the opposite meaning.
