This week in Base 1 children have been learning about their new topic in Jigsaw which is called ‘healthy me’. They talked about what their favourite fruit is and created a pictogram to show the results. In maths this week children have been learning about addition. They used real fruit to help them work out their number problems. Base 1 have also worked in groups to make their own smelly perfumes. They used ingredients such as lemon, orange, peppermint, lav-ender, vanilla, coffee and rosemary.

This week Base 2 have completed their sponsored event for the NSPCC, a dance-a-thon! Children have started to collect data for a weather diary and all children took part in pedestrian training. Children have also learnt about their author of the month; Julia Donaldson.

Base 3 have been working hard completing assessments for most of this week. Between the assessments they have written a set of instructions on how to make a sockasaurus which they will be making towards the end of this week and the beginning of next week. Children have done some Jigsaw where they discussed ‘what makes a healthy me?’ and why it is important to stay healthy children also shared what their favourite healthy food is. On Thursday Base 3 took part in pedestrian training, this showed them how to be a good pedestrian and they learnt how to cross roads safely.

The music man visited Base 4 this week and children have been learning to play the recorder. School Reminders and Requests

We ask that you please consider others when dropping off and picking up

children. We have, again, received complaints from neighbours and our own parents! We would ask parents to ensure that

children have their kit in school for all PE sessions.

Can parents/carers please check child/

rens hair—we have reports of nits in school. Please treat your child/ren.

Please ensure that ALL uniform items are

clearly labelled including coats.

SAFEGUARDING Parents are reminded not to encourage their children to go over to them when they are coming to Pre-school with younger siblings as this creates a Safeguarding issue. If one parent sees another picking up a child, this could lead to anyone picking up a child and snatching them.

Fund Raiser—Head Shave The parent of one of our children in Base 7 is having her head shaved in aid of raising money for Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund and donating her hair to the Little Princess Trust. The big shave will take place on March 31st at 8pm in the Blue Pig pub, Trench. Alongside this there is a raffle taking place with some amazing prizes donated by our local community, tickets are £1 each and can be purchased in the Blue Pig. The link to her fundraising page is JustGiving.com/Lindsay-Linsley or alternatively donations can be made in the pub.
