Jr. High Eagle Basketball vs. New Halen MalamutesLast February 28-March 1st, Tuesday through Friday evenings, the crowds filled the stands as the Sand Point Jr. High Eagles, coached by Bruce Lee, and the New Halen Malamutes faced off for a series of high action games. The Eagles came out on top 3-0, forging ahead at the buzzer in some close scoring wins. Friday night saw smiles all around as new high scorers emerged. Teams were mixed and players were rotated every 2 minutes to experience increased playing time. What a great chance for players to learn teamwork!

The Jr. Eagles showed great teamwork and hustle, driving to the hoop and scoring on turnovers. Fast breaks were the name of the game, as the Jr. Eagles outran the Malamutes time and again, maneuvering the ball down court and passing into the key to make the big plays.

Thanks go out to all of those involved in supporting and promoting this opportunity for the Sand Point Jr. High to build their skills and face some tough competition. Special thanks to the referees, Raynelle Gardner, Luke Meinert, George Cromer, and Peter Gronholdt.
