A staysafe Safe-Lock adapter, 4 inch will allow the patient with a Fresenius staysafe PD system to use Safe-Lock supplies while in the hospital.

Safe-Lock solution set and related supplies for exchange procedure.

2. Remove the cap from the patient’s extension set.

3. Continue to hold the end of the patient’s extension set. 4. Remove the sterility protector cap from the blue connector of the adapter. 5. Attach the adapter to the extension set.

7. Remove the sterility protector cap from the red adapter connector.

8. Following your facility’s procedure for use, attach Safe-Lock tubing set.

• The patient should return to his/her home or clinic with the additional extension in place. This practice will allow the patient to return home and resume dialysis without interruption.

• Instruct the patient to remove any adaptors added to their extension set at the beginning of the next exchange or as directed by the PD clinic nurse.
