FRERICHS FARM….WARREN, RI….GPC SanctionedGIANT PUMPKIN Weigh-off. October 9, 2010
We want to thank everyone for coming this year. Not only was the site Pumpkin weight broken, but a record crowd ofroughly 4000 people showed up. This event just seems to get bigger every year. And with 40 pumpkins plus an assort-ment of Long Gourds, Giant Watermelon and Giant Squash, everyone got to see what they came for. A World ClassWeigh-off. Once again the sun shined bright in Little Rhody, which made the day even more enjoyable. And how aboutthose Hay Rides. There was a crowd of kids and parents departing for a hay ride every 15 minutes, from 11:00am until4:00pm. Thanks once again to our sponsors, on this day, (especially Barbara and David Frerichs) for making everythingrun so smoothly. Of course we must thank the SNGPG Directors and miscellaneous volunteers, who help inspect and liftpumpkins, or register people and record all the events. Many Hands makes for light work!
