Free training day for youth workers
Understanding Group Work
Tuesday 17th June 2014

At YMCA George Williams College 199 Freemasons Road, Canning Town, London E16 3PY
YMCA George Williams College is repeating this popular training day on ‘Understanding
Group Work’ for professionals and volunteers working with young people. The day will
encourage you to think about different approaches to group work and provide practical
activities that you can take away and use with young people. Topics covered include:
Team building
Group roles
Understanding
conflict
Using discussion
Leadership

Places will be allocated on a ‘first come, first served’ basis. A maximum of 4 places may be booked by one
organisation. Tea and coffee will be provided during the day and a light sandwich lunch.
The training day offers a taster of the programmes offered by the college and information and advice on
applying for our courses will be provided for anyone who is interested in finding out more.
