We recently returned from the annual Frankfurt Book Fair where we

held a 60 years anniversary reception; over 200 people showed up! It

was a great occasion to bond with everyone and proudly show o� our

milestones. From that we heard many good comments from long time

partners and customers. We have such a solid foundation to build our

business further, and we are honored that you can be part of it.

Our prepress operation recently installed an Information Security System to better ensure protection of our customers intellectual property. The system includes: Access Control,  Alarms and a CCTV System.

Our Shenzhen plant was recently awarded the “Hong Kong – Guangdong Cleaner Production Partners Recognition Scheme” and “Hang Seng PRD environmental award” recognizing our e�ort in more sustainable production. We take this as an encouragement to continue to our e�orts to protect the environment where ever possible.

OutlookThe general sentiment from the market and people we have spoken to at

Frankfurt is positive and cautiously optimistic, business demand is up

compared to last year, but buying behavior has changed. People are

being more calculated on what they buy and how they buy; as consumer

dynamics have changed following the recession. E-books and digital

media continue to be a major topic but one that is getting increasing

clarity as consumer patterns start to give publishers safe data.

Paper price trend / market outlook

During 2009, paper prices remained relatively steady raising some only in the second half.  Impacted by the global recession that began in late 2008, mills around the  world removed  excess capacities and reduced inventories. But as we entered 2010, a number of exceptional factors brought on a supply driven price increase - the Chilian earthquake resulted in temporary plup shortages for papermills in the �rst quarter, Finland had port strikes which restricted pulp shipments and there were expectations of economic recovery and thus demand increases.  At the Bolgona Children's Bookfair back in March, one of the hotest topics was how high and how fast paper prices would go. 

By early June, prices softened some and seasonal demand, lowered expectations on the global economy and the pulp shortages of early in the year eased.  However, the world supply of pulp and paper capacity remains at a much more balanced position now vs pre - 2009 and that will continue to drive a higher price level on paper, we expect this to continue in the short term.  The picture in certain regions of the world will vary and prices move di�erently in Europe vs Asia vs North America.

Coming into 2011, there lies many uncertainties and the market remains very challenging ahead. There are many unanswered questions yet to be reviewed; How high will wages and bene�ts climb? How fast will the RMB appreciate? How quickly will raw materials and in�ationary trends move upward? How will E-books impact printed books, and in what domain? And so on… But one thing is sure, we are seeing consolidation in industries continue. Choosing the right partner, to sail through the future is all the more important.
