Ordination is also called consecratio, for it is a setting apart and an investiture by Christ himself for his Church. The laying on of hands by the bishop, with the consecra- tory prayer, constitutes the visible sign of this ordination.” Catechism of the Catholic Church n.1538 I thank the parish for the interest shown in his ordination and the support extended to celebrate it in the parish. I thank all those represented the parish at the Ordination, a great privilege to witness it. I pray that our prayer and celebration of the priesthood of a son of ours will be an encouraging motivation for our children to consider Sacred Priesthood and Consecrated Life as a wonderful option in life to serve God in a unique and profound way. We pray that our actions will not shut this door for them!! But rather treasure it ourselves and so encourage them, against all the odds! Fr Prem’s message: We congratulate Fr Marco-Daniel Egawhary on his ordi-

nation to the Sacerdotal Priesthood. “Today the word "ordination" is reserved for the

sacramental act which integrates a man into the order of bishops, presbyters, or deacons, and goes be-yond a simple election, designation, delegation, or institution by the community, for it confers a gift of the Holy Spirit that permits the exercise of a "sacred power" (sacra potestas) which can come only from Christ himself through his Church. Ordination is also called consecratio, for it is a setting apart and an investiture by Christ himself for his Church. The laying on of hands by the bishop, with the consecra-tory prayer, constitutes the visible sign of this ordination.” Catechism of the Catholic Church n.1538 I thank the parish for the interest shown in his ordination and the support extended to celebrate it in the parish. I thank all those represented the parish at the Ordination, a great privilege to witness it. On 8th August the Parish Pastoral group is organising a day trip to the Cotswold Wildlife park, primarily for the senior mem-bers of our parish community. We would be leaving at approximate-ly 10.00 am and returning for 4.30 pm, with exact times and arrange-ments to be confirmed nearer the date. If you are interested please will you fill in the form at the back of the church by the end of June, with your name, phone number and if you would need a wheel chair, so we can get an idea of numbers and the size of coach we will need.

Families and younger people interested in joining us, please talk to either Sandra Lenagan, Charles King or other members of the PPG.

PARISH - OXFORD MISSION - 23rd & 24th November, parish meeting after 11am mass!

Advanced Notice We will be holding our popular "Silent Auction" fund raising event on Saturday September 21st. Please start thinking about any items you wish to donate/enter. Look out for further details and an-nouncements nearer the time. ~ Lou Borucki

Parish Celebration Lunch for our will be Newly Ordained Son of the Parish - Marco Egawhary - Following the 11.00am Mass at St Thomas More Church on Sunday 28th July we will hold a Celebration Lunch in the Parish Hall to celebrate Marco Egehawary’s Ordination and First

Masess in the Parish. All parishioners are warmly invited to attend.

This will be a Bring & Share event and we would welcome help, if you are able, to provide a “sharing platter” for this lunch. This will mainly be cold food for a finger/fork buffet and suggested quantity size of 4-6 portions. There is a list of suggested food items in the Church Porch/Hall which you can add your name to. Alternatively, you are welcome to bring along any other dish of your choice but please add it to the list so we know we have sufficient quantity. For dietary purposes we would appreciate it if you could label items if they are specific for vegan/vegetarian/gluten free, etc. diets. Wine, Beer, soft drinks and refreshments will be available. Please bring items on the morning of the 28th July to the Church Hall. Thank you for your help and support. ~Mary Gilgunn-Jones (07768312106 ) Marika Dimech
