Men’s fashion brand finds common ground with a city that is anything but common.

Men’s fashion brand, FQ1924, with an age-old heritage and inspiration from courageous adventurers from a hundred years ago, takes a modern-day journey of its own through the city of Berlin.

FQ1924 was launched a mere season ago. Yet, it encapsulates a story so deep-seated in history and bold in its beliefs and design that the brand has already made an impression on the fashion world. Inspired by a group of Danish settlers who migrated into Quebec, Canada in the early 1900’s with only a hope and a belief in their pockets, FQ1924’s mission is to not only deliver authentic men’s apparel that tells a rich story, but to embody the same values of its forebears – courage, curiosity and adventure. Today, FQ1924 finds inspiration from the people of Berlin, who share a similar attitude and lifestyle that the brand holds dear – and infuses the energy of this versatile, open-minded and creative people into this season’s collection. So why Berlin, you ask? Because this is a city where anything goes. Not simply for a long weekend or a guy’s get-a-way. And surely what happens in Berlin CAN and will be talked about. It’s not a city for the faint-hearted or weak-minded. This is the only city standing that rejects any ‘norm’ and still offers everything expected from an urban metropolis. Without calling it anarchy, it’s, by far, the closest thing (in a good way, somehow!). But, we all know (yet don’t like to talk about) that Berlin wasn’t always like it is today. With a painful history that lies beneath its newly resurrected façade, Berlin’s past is one of the reasons for its present day appeal. Without it, this would be another city exhaustively trying to catch up to the proverbial ‘Jones’’ (New York, Paris, London). Instead, Berliners embrace their history in a non-verbal manner – by tolerating everything and accepting exactly what it is without the need of a label. So, let’s move beyond the past and see Berlin for what it is now. For better or worse, Berlin has become Europe’s epicenter of multi-culture and the home to

so many immigrants and natives looking for something fresh and new, ensuring that the only rule is that there are no ‘rules’, and taking advantage of the limitless possibilities at their fingertips. But above all, this city offers comfort for its residents and visitors alike that exceed any other city out there – the chance to be themselves – with no pretenses or expectations. Yes, that’s a good reason to go to Berlin.

If we could re-nickname Berlin – it would be ‘Green Berlin’. With at least a third of the city being a forest, park, garden or water – the best way to experience this expanse city is by bike. Berlin is one of the few cities in the world with an endless horizon from every view. From nearly all vantage points, you can see areas beyond areas that all appear much closer than they actually are. So, give your feet a break. And breathe in the fresh air by cycling from Muggelsee lake to Charlottenburg. From Tiergarten to the Japanese Garden. From East to West. The relaxed pace of Berlin takes away any stress – and many country people like to visit the city for a little upbeat R&R. A bit backwards- but the truth.
