CHARITY PROGRAMMES
UTTARAKHAND DISASTER RELIEF
Our Lodge participated in the relief efforts during the recent Uttarakhand flood
disaster in June 2013 when thousands of pilgrims from Kedarnath & Badrinath were
stranded due to flash floods and landslides and were made to trek for several day to
reach Rishikesh, which was one of the transit points.
Our Master thought that the best way to provide relief to those people in distress
would be to serve them with good food and he immediately contacted Bro. Raam
Vairavan and Mrs Visalakshi, daughter of R.W Bro SP.ST. Palaniappan, who was in
charge of Koviloor Math in Rishikesh and conveyed his wish. Within a short time a
food counter was set up near Bus Station and freshly prepared South Indian dishes
were served continuously for 4 days starting from June 24th, which happened to be
the Universal Brotherhood Day. Thousands of stranded and starved pilgrims
thronged the place to satisfy their hunger. There was coverage on several news
channels about distribution of food packets and Mrs Visalakshi during interviews
specifically mentioned that Lodge Accountants from Chennai had sponsored this
initiative. This effort was recognized and appreciated by the District Collector of
Chamouli.
This was a timely relief initiative undertaken on behalf of Lodge Accountants which
benefitted thousands of needy pilgrims. The total expense of Rs 60,000 was met out
of spontaneous contributions from our Brethren. This apart, V. W.Bro.
S.Thirugnanamurthy and W.Bro. Kousik Ganesh contributed Rs. 1,01,001 and Rs.
5,000 donations directly to the Northern India Masonic Charitable Society for the
disaster relief.
WATER TREATMENT PLANT
Water treatment plant at a cost of Rs. 24,100 was installed in Govt. Middle School
Thenpattinam, near Mahabalipuram in Jan’13 to provide pure drinking water to
school children. This programme was attended by R.W.Bro. K.Gopal,Worshipful the
ARGM. The school children expressed their happiness and gratitude for providing the
facility.
BLOOD DONATION CAMP
Our Lodge conducted a Blood Donation camp in association with Chennai Volunteers
on 5th & 6th October, 2013 at Free Masons Hall. Apart from Masons, outside blood
donors participated in the camp and about 75 units of blood were collected. This
programme was inaugurated by W.Bro.Rajan Sekri, Worshipful the ARGM.
COMPUTER LAB UPGRADE
Our Lodge provided computer accessories like memory chips, hard disks, monitors
etc at a cost of Rs. 70,000 to upgrade the existing computers meant for use by the
Students of Little Flower School for Blind. The students were happy that the upgrade
helped to improve the processing speed of their computers and thanked the Lodge
for upgrading their computers.
UNIVERSAL BROTHERHOOD DAY CHARITY
On the occasion of the Universal Brotherhood day Celebration on 24.06.2013 at
Freemasons Hall premises, our Lodge participated in the Charity program, by
distributing school bags and library books costing Rs.24,500 to the Turning Point,
Triplicane, an organization that supports under privileged school going children.
DHANYA DHAN
Our Lodge continues to support Dhanya Dhan by adopting Sivasakthi Kakkum
Karangal, a home for mentally challenged and Seva Chakra, an orphanage by
contributing Rs. 18,000 & Rs. 30,000 respectively.
Our Lodge sponsored breakfast & lunch to the inmates of Sri Ramakrishna Mission
Students home & Little Flower School for blind on Consecration Day and Installation
Day.
Our Lodge also contributed donations to organisations, students and others towards
various charitable activities.

FORTY FOURTH ANNUAL REPORT FOR THE YEAR 2013
The Permanent Committee of Lodge Accountants No.194 has pleasure in presenting the
Forty Fourth Annual Report on the working of the Lodge for the year ended 31st December,
2013.
INSTALLATION
Bro. Rajamani Radhakrishnan (Reg.No.174, initiated on 19.11.1998) was installed as the 44th
Master of Lodge Accountants No.194 by W..Bro. M.Kousik Ganesh at the 576th Regular
(Installation) Meeting held on Friday, the 25th January, 2013 in the august presence of
R.W.Bro. Krishnamachari Gopal, P.S.G.W., P.Dy.R.G.M., Worshipful the Assistant Regional
Grand Master of the Regional Grand Lodge of Southern India, in charge of our Lodge. The
Worshipful Master then appointed and invested his officers for the year 2013.
The Installation Meeting was attended by about 130 brethren, including Ruling Masters of
the City Lodges and several distinguished brethren from other Lodges within and outside
Chennai.
The meeting was followed by a banquet at the Freemason's Hall. The arrangement for the
fellowship and dinner were made in an exemplary manner.
MEMBERSHIP
There were 161 Subscribing Members and 3 honorary members on the rolls of the Lodge at
the commencement of the year. During the year, there were 9 initiations and the year
concluded with 170 Subscribing Members and 3 honorary members.
MEETINGS
During the year, in addition to the Installation Meeting, 10 Regular Meetings and 4
Emergency Meetings (2 Ritual Working Competition Meetings, one 50/40/25 years Long
Term Service Jewel Presentation Meeting and one Out-station Meeting) were held. During
the year 9 candidates were initiated, 6 candidates were passed as Fellow Crafts and 8
candidates were raised to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason.
The Ritual Working at all meetings was, as in the past, shared by many Junior Brethren to
whom appropriate portions were allotted. The Lodge acknowledges with gratitude the
involvement, participation and guidance of the Past Masters in the ritual working.
ATTENDANCE
The Lodge continued its fine track record by maintaining good attendance at its meetings.
The average attendance of Brethren at the meetings was 49. It is notable that the Officers
displayed their commitment by attending the meetings. It is pertinent to note that Bro.
R.Guruswamy & Bro. R.Balakrishnan have registered 100% attendance. The attendance at
Past Masters’ Meeting on 19.12.2013 was 43.

LTSJ MEETING & GRAND MASTER’S VISIT TO OUR LODGE
At the 588th Emergency Meeting held on 09.12.2013, M.W.Bro.Vasudev Jamnabihar
Masurekar, O.S.M., M.W. the Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of India presented
50/40/25 years Long Term Service Jewel to four of the distinguished brethren of our Lodge.
Earlier, in the afternoon, as a rare occasion, M.W. the Grand Master presented R.W.Bro.
K.Ananthachari with the 40 Years LTSJ at his office owing to health reasons.

recipient of 40 Years LTSJ was the First Initiate of our Lodge.
In the history of Lodge Accountants it is the first official visit of M.W. the Grand Master of
the Grand Lodge of India to our lodge on the occasion of the presentation of 50/40/25
years Long Term Service Jewel on 09.12.2013.

RITUAL WORKING COMPETITION
The Lodge also notes with satisfaction its participation in the First Stage of Ritual Working
Competition for the year 2013 at the 582nd Emergency Meeting held on 21st July, 2013.
Having qualified for the Second Stage of the Ritual Working Competition, it participated in
the Second Stage of Ritual Working Competition at the 587th Emergency Meeting held on
3rd December, 2013 and the results are awaited.
The Lodge expresses its deep sense of gratitude to the Past Masters for their zeal and
untiring efforts in training and motivating the brethren for the ritual working competition
and in particular to V.W.Bro. S. Thirugnanamurthy, V.W.Bro. R.Venkatesh, W.Bro.
G.Prabhakar, W.Bro.D.Sharath Kumar Tantry, W.Bro. Chinnsamy Ganesan, W.Bro. Adivarahan

PAST MASTERS’ MEETING
The Past Masters’ Meeting was held on 19th December 2013. W.Bro. R.Varadharajan
(P.M.2003) occupied the Eastern Chair and with the assistance of his team the officers of
2003, raised to the sublime degree of Master Masons (i) Bro. Perumal Sathyanarayanan and
(ii) Bro. Abhishek Murali, in an exemplary manner.
There was an attendance of 43 brethren including many Past Masters. The efforts taken by
W.Bro. R.Varadharajan and the excellent manner in which the ritual was conducted were very
much appreciated by the large number of brethren present.
OUTSTATION MEETING
It has been the established custom of the Lodge to have an outstation meeting every year to
cement the ties amongst the brethren and strengthen the bond between their respective
families. In continuation of this tradition, the 29th Outstation Trip to Karaikudi was organized
by the W.Master W.Bro. R.Radhakrishnan between 26th and 30th December, 2013.
An outstation meeting was conducted at Peria Veedu, Athangudi near Karaikudi on 27th
December, 2013 and was attended by 27 brethren. The meeting was graced by the august
presence of R.W.Bro. Dr. P.K.Muthukumaraswamy, R.W., the Dy. Grand Master of the Grand
Lodge of India, W.Bro. Rajan Sekri, Worshipful the ARGM of the Regional Grand Lodge of
Southern India, in-charge of our Lodge and V.W.Bro. N.Ganesh, Worshipful the ARGM of the
Regional Grand Lodge of Southern India. Two brethren from Madurai also attended the
Meeting. It is worth mentioning that ours was the first Masonic meeting held in the ancient
Chettinad Heritage area. We sincerely thank V.W.Bro. S.Thirugnanamurthy for undertaking
the logistic arrangements for setting up the temple at the venue.
About 50 members of brethren and their family members participated in the outstation trip
to Karaikudi between 26th and 30th December, 2013. All the participants enjoyed the visit to
the ancient temples in and around Karaikudi namely Pillaiyarpatti, Ariyakudi, Thirumayam
and Thirukostiyur and also temples at Rameswaram, Thirupullani and Thirukosamangai. This
apart, they also visited Dhanushkodi, Thirumayam Fort and heritage buildings at Athangudi,
Kanadukathan, Kothamangalam and Karaikudi. Thus the trip was aptly named as HERITAGE
TRIP. They also enjoyed the famous Chettinad food throughout the trip.
W.Master acknowledges with thanks, the untiring efforts of V.W.Bro.S.Thirugnanamurthy,
W.Bro. M.Balaganesh, Bro. R.Guruswamy, Bro. S.Balakrishnan and Mrs. Jayashree Chella
Srinivasan for the success of this trip.
FAMILY OF MASONS –3RD GENERATION
The Lodge had a rare privilege of witnessing an Initiation Ceremony by the father, W.Bro.
A.Subramanian, initiating his 2 sons, Bro. SP. Nachiappan and Bro. SP. Palaniappan, both
Chartered Accountants, into Freemasonry on 19th Sep.2013, in the presence of his father-in-
law, R.W.Bro. SP.ST.Palaniappan, a Founder Member of the Lodge. Two other grandsons of
the latter were also present. In all there were 6 members of the family of R.W.Bro.
SP.ST.Palaniappan attended the meeting.
COMMITTEE MEETINGS
The Permanent Committee of the Lodge met before every regular / emergency meeting to
deliberate and plan upon all matters concerning the Lodge.
GRAND LODGE MEETING
The Annual Grand Festival of the Grand Lodge of India was held on 23rd November, 2013 at
Mumbai. A large number of our brethren attended the meeting.
RGL MEETINGS
The 52nd Annual Investiture Meeting of the Regional Grand Lodge of Southern India was
held on Saturday, the 23rd February, 2013 at Mysore and was well attended by brethren of
our Lodge.
The Half Yearly Meeting of the Regional Grand Lodge of Southern India was held on 31st
August, 2013 at Kanyakumari. A large number of our brethren participated in the meeting.
UNIVERSAL BROTHERHOOD DAY
The Lodge actively took part in the Universal Brotherhood Day celebrations organised by the
three ARGMs of the Regional Grand Lodge of Southern India on Monday, the 24th June, 2013
at Freemason's Hall, Chennai.
INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATIONS
On 15th August 2013, the Lodge participated in the flag hoisting ceremony organized by the
three ARGMs of the Regional Grand Lodge of Southern India. Participation was coupled with
Charity.

W.BRO. K.A. ARJUNAN ROLLING TROPHY FOR THE BEST JUNIOR MASON
This trophy, instituted by R.W.Bro. Y. Sathiamurthy, is awarded to the best Junior Mason who
is selected from the initiates of the previous year. For the year 2013, Bro. R. Senthilkumar has
been recommended for this award.
PERMANENT COMMITTEE
W.Bro. A.Subramanian and W.Bro. B.S.Purshotham were elected to the Permanent
Committee for the year 2013 as per Bye Law No. 4. The Permanent Committee met regularly
every month to transact business relating to administration of Lodge and ritual working.
FINANCE AND ACCOUNTS
The financial position of the Lodge continues to be satisfactory. All the registers and
accounts have been properly maintained and the subscriptions from all members are
received in full and all bills have been settled up to 31st December 2013. The audited
statements of accounts are appended to this report.
FAMILY GET TOGETHER (Ladies Day Out)
Our Lodge organized a Family Get together (Ladies Day Out) on 27th October, 2013 at MGM
Beach Resorts, Muttukadu, Chennai. The brethren and their families came together on this
occasion. Games for children and ladies were organized and the participation was
enthusiastic. A sumptuous lunch befitting the occasion followed. Food, fun, games and
entertainment made the day, a memorable and enjoyable one.

The Returns to the Grand Lodge of India and the Regional Grand Lodge of Southern India
have been submitted in time and dues there on have been paid most promptly.
MASONIC DIARY
As in the earlier years, the pioneering effort of our Lodge, a Masonic Diary for the year 2013
with the photographs of all brethren and setting out the dates of the meeting of Craft, Mark,
Lodges, Chapters and conclaves in the city of Chennai (under all constitutions) is being
brought out and will be released at the installation meeting. This is the 40th consecutive year
of its publication. The Committee thanks R.W.Bro. K. Ananthachari, W.Bro. R. Radhakrishnan
and Bro. R. Guruswamy for their invaluable services in the compilation of the Diary.
GENERAL
1. The Lodge is extremely delighted that V.W.Bro.N.Ganesh has been conferred the rank of
Assistant Regional Grand Master and the Lodge congratulates him on the attainment
which made us feel proud.
