NATIONAL LEVEL TECHNICAL SYMPOSIUM

MARCH 2016

The National Level Student’s Technical Symposium OPUZELEK 2K 15’ was

conducted on 31.08.2015. It was inaugurated by the Chief Guest Dr T.S. Ran-

gan, Founder and Managing Director, Rupa Jan Management Consulting Pri-

vate Limited.

About one hundred students from the colleges in and around Chennai partici-

pated in the various competitions like paper presentation, circuit debugging,

technical quiz competition, robo race, project display etc. The best two presen-

tations in each category were awarded cash prizes along with certificates.

The third mini project competition for the EEE students was held on 31.08.2015 and about 30 batches of

students displayed their projects related to the latest trends in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. The

main focus was on renewable energy resources and power conservation.

MINIPROJECT COMPETITION

In the Anna University examinations conducted during April 2015, two university ranks were bagged by

the students from the department of EEE. Ms Swatika G bagged the forty-fourth and Ms Vidya R

bagged the forty-ninth rank.

STUDENT AWARDS

Project on Solar Power utilization Project on Electromagnetic Induction

Ms Lavanya S R of III Year was awarded the ‘ISTE CHAPTER BEST STUDENT AWARD 2015’

for the overall performance in academics, extracurricular activities and active involvement in the ISTE

student Chapter activities. The award function was held during the 15th ISTE TN & P Section Annual

Convention for Engineering Students at Anand Institute of Higher Technology on 13.02.2016.

Mr Chella Kumar S R and Mr Karthikeyan T of IV Year were selected for Entrepreneurship Develop-

ment Advance Training –Phase III conducted by ICTACT from 21.07.2015 to 24.07.2015.

Mr Chella Kumar S R of IV year won the Third Prize in the Energy Conservation Campaign Paper

Presentation on the topic ‘Alternative Fuels’ conducted by Thirumalai Chemicals Limited, Ranipet on

the National Energy Conservation day on 14.12.2015.

Mr Sakthi Sarath D of III year won the Third Prize in Paper Presentation in the symposium,

‘XEMPLAR 2k15’ conducted by Velammal Institute of Technology on 26.09.2015.

Ms Saranya Devi S and Ms Revathi C M of III year won First Prize in Paper Presentation on the topic

‘Generation of Electricity by using Artificial Botanic Trees’ in the symposium, ‘VERMOGEN 2k15’ at

Gojan School of Business and Technology on 26. 09.2015.

Ms Saranya Devi S of III year bagged the First Prize in Simulation and Second Prize in Spot Event in

the symposium, ‘VERMOGEN 2k15’ held at Gojan School of Business and Technology on 26.09.2015.

Mr Naveen Kumar S of II Year has participated in the TECHFEST, STROM 2k15 conducted by Loyola-

ICAM College of Engineering and Technology on 25.07.2015.

Mr Punamalli Jaswanth Krishna of III Year attended the one day Workshop on ‘Embedded System’ con-

ducted at Phoenix System,Chennai on 17.08.2015.

Mr Sakthi Sarath D and Mr Surendar Singh V of III Year attended one day Workshop in ‘Embedded Sys-

tem’ conducted at Phoenix System, Chennai on 25.08.2015.

Mr Mohamed Rasulini S, Mr Raghavel S P, Mr Shakthi Sarath D, Mr Shanmugasundaram A, Mr Rakesh

Ram Kumar B and Mr Srinivass P P of III Year attended the Certificate Course in ‘Electronic System

Modeling (PCB Designing)’ conducted by the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engi-

neers, Chennai centre, from 27.08.2015 to 28.08.2015.

Mr Siva Sankar Reddy M and Mr Jaswanth Krishna P of III Year attended the workshop on ‘Internet of

Things’ conducted during EUPRAXIA, a National Level Technical Symposium, at SSN College of Engi-

neering on 29.08.2015.

SILON 2k15, the National Level Technical Symposium conducted at Meenakshi Sundararajan Engineering

College on 18.08.2015.

BEC training program was conducted by FACE Training Academy for the II year students from

01.02.2016 to 03.03.2016. The second phase of this training was conducted from 12.02.2016 to

15.02.2016.

A mock online test was conducted for the II year students on 02.03.2016

The AMCAT test was conducted for the III year students on 03.03.2016 and 04.03.2016.
