In the Middle Ages, young men

Movember News Update

On 29th November our support of the

Movember movement came to a close with our “End Of Movember” party. You helped

raise in excess of £700 during the campaign

but more importantly we hope that we have

helped raise awareness in men’s health, particularly concerning prostate and

testicular cancer.

Thanks to everyone who supported us, especially those who came to

the party. We are already making plans for 2013 and hope that we continue to receive

your support for this worthwhile cause.

Congratulations to our awards winners,:

Andy Dawe- Best Dressed Mo & Man of Movember,

Sandra Hayward- Miss Movember,

Simon Ford - Ultimate Mo

Joanne Ensor– No Mo award.

Finally special thanks go to our main sponsors of the

awards: Mad Dog, Manny’s, Bloomin Lovely and Cloud 9 who

contributed so much in making the evening a success.

If you are interested in joining us for the 2013 campaign come and speak to either Darren

or Craig

What Is Shrove Tuesday?

Shrove Tuesday, also known as Pancake

Day, is the last day before the period which

Christians call Lent. It is traditional on this

day to eat pancakes.

Lent is a time of abstinence, of giving things

up, so Shrove Tuesday is the last day to

indulge yourself and to use up the foods that

aren’t allowed during Lent. Pancakes are

eaten on this day because they contain, fat,

butter and eggs which were forbidden

during Lent.

Shrove Tuesday always falls 47 days before

Easter Sunday, so the date varies from year

to year and falls between the 3rd February

and 9th March.

In Catholic and French speaking parts of the

USA this day is called Mardi Gras.

Whether giving up for Lent or not we will

be offering a selection of savoury and sweet

pancakes on 12th February. Come and see

how creative we are.

Murder Mystery Night

Suds Law - Murder at the Soap Awards

You are invited to 'The Suds' - the annual TV Soap awards where the

stars of the nation's favourite show, East Corriedale, are gathered to

celebrate veteran Ken Boring's Lifetime Achievement Award. But will he

live long enough to enjoy it? Is cheery Alfie Newmoon's popularity on the

wane? Will superbitch Shadie Kling lose more than the plot? Is lovable

rogue Zack Pringle about to pop? And is downtrodden Vera Duckegg

hiding something lethal in her earrings? Someone has murder in mind but

can you unmask the killer before the credits roll?

Price Includes 3 Course Meal

Fancy dress optional

Pie Fest!!!!

Not only will we continue offering our great

value for money pie & pint deal on Monday

evenings through 2013, But on 4th March

through to 10th March we will be joining the

National Pie week celebration and showcase

a great selection of homemade pies for you

to feast upon.

If your choice is a savoury then try our

English pulled ham and wholegrain mustard,

venison, port & juniper, pork & wild

mushroom or if your more of a

traditionalist , steak & kidney pudding or

Homity pie.

Fear not you sweet toothed bunch we hope

you might be tempted to try our very own

Dutch apple pie, Key lime pie, cherry pie or

the calorific Mississippi Mud Pie.

Whatever your preference we will be
