SHARP Your Chance to Win a Free Dinner! See Details Inside From the President We just finished the Cal Expo show and we are already into another show. The California Auto Museum (it was the Towe Ford Museum) asked our members to participate in their show “Era of Motorcycles 1900 to 2010”, and my guess is there are about eighteen motorcycles from our club members. There are about sixty to seventy motorcycles on display. They have two exhibits: first, competition bikes and second, street and custom bikes. The competition bikes are in the center of the building and the other bikes are by the front door. The museum workers did a very good job of setting up the displays. The bikes will be there from January 9, 2010 to the middle of March 2010. If you want to see some interesting and unusual bikes, take some time and go to the museum and look at the bikes and also the cars. This is a very good display. The San Jose motorcycle show and swap meet will be on March 27, 2010. They will use three or four buildings this time. One for all British motorcycles, one for Japanese bikes, one for European bikes and a new one for American bikes 1900 to 1974. The American bike show and swap meet will be put on by the Yerba Buena chapter. Our National road run at Lake Tahoe in the Biltmore Casino is all set up. The only thing left is laying out the routes for the rides. Don’t forget to call Dave Kafton and let him know what day you can help out at the Dixon swap meet. Your President, Richard Hardmeyer

YOUR CHANCE TOWIN A FREE DINNER!

Attend the February 3rd club meetingfor your chance to win a free dinnerat our February 20th annual banquet.

Three dinners will be given away so you havethree chances to win but you must attend the

meeting to be eligible for the drawing.

Dear All, We held a teleconference Board Meeting 10 January 2010, with all 11 Directors present. Among the reports you may find the following of interest.• Susan Brutus, our Merchandise Manager, was at the big Las Vegas auction last weekend selling memberships and our new merchandise.• We are working with the Editorial team on another membership survey, and ways of retaining and increasing membership, in what looks like being another tough year for many.• Our Policy and Procedures Manual is being mildly revised, and a new version should be sent to you after the Eustis Meeting.• I am leading a new President’s Judging Committee, looking at simple rule changes to defend our system against the replica bikes starting to be seen out there. Most members putting in bikes for judging need not worry, and we expect to have new rules explained and in operation for the new season.• Kevin Valentine is leading efforts to improve the Club Web site for our members.• The Club Trailer has another busy season being planned, and will be at our Eustis meet for the first time. With the weather here in Ohio, I can’t wait to see as many of you as possible in Florida next month.Best regards,Rocky Halter, President, Antique Motorcycle Club of America

O.K., Its not a picture of club member’s bike but it does make me wonder about my tax money and if the CHP actually rode the thing what would the uniforms look like.

More PhotoS FroM the auto MuSeuM eXhIBIt

For the $8.00 admission fee seeing this exhibit is a real bargain, Jack normally charges $10.00.

Dennis Gill’s ‘42 Harley XA in the foreground and Jack Gormley’s ‘42 Crocker in the background. As one of the most unique bikes in the show it was a shame to the see the Crocker put in the back row while elsewhere in the exhibit customs were getting the front row treatment.

The oldest bike there. Vince Martinico’s 1912 Indian is mounted on its own pedestal. It’s just the shadows making it look like it has 50 spokes in each wheel.

Be sure to find the competition section of the exhibit. There are many interesting racers there and the cars aren’t bad either.

Dennis Gill’s 1942 Harley XA in full military trim is a crowd pleaser.
