Objectives of the Organization
1. To operate hospitals with a view to provide treatment for the poorest of the
poor in the society.
2. To work with full dedication for the service of Disabled and eradication of
blindness in particular and to give service to the society in general.
3. To research and develop aids and appliances best suited to the nature of
disability deformities and environment.

4. To encourage research for providing benefits of the latest medical facilities
to the handicapped and organize seminars of medical experts.
5. To envolve measures and make all possible efforts for protection of the
people suffering from blindness and physical disability.
6. To establish, run hospitals, service homes for handicapped and work for
preservation and maintenance of existing institutions.
7. To organize training and welfare centers, where handicapped children may
get congenial environment for proper development and honorable living.
8. To make arrangements for rehabilitation of handicapped to help them to be
self reliant and socially useful organ of the society and to instill the feeling of
self confidence in them.
9. To provide necessary training of living to handicapped and to establish
workshop for essential equipments for them. To provide patronage of
workshops already running, to make available useful equipments at minimum
possible cost.
10. To implement program, which may prevent and eradicate blindness.
11. To run special program for prevention and control of polio.
12. To provide economic assistance to the handicapped and adopt remedial
measures for removal of their grievances/ difficulties.
13. To organize handicapped Service Camps /Eye Relief Camps for eradication
of disability and blindness.
14. To train and encourage devoted and duty conscious work force.
15. To honor and provide prizes to the handicapped in recognition of their
special achievements.
16. To make sincere Endeavour for creating awareness and feeling of sympathy,
co-operation and help amongst the general public for handicapped by
organizing seminars and publicity through print & Electronic media.
17. To Organize special Campaigns at national and International level for
collection of funds for the handicapped.
18. To adopt such measures which will help physically handicapped and blind
persons to lead a normal life along with main stream of the society.

Activities Of the OrganizationConsidering services to the Disabled as well as Eradication of Blindness as a
sacred duty in the present times, Kalyanam Karoti was established on 02 October
(Gandhi Jayanti), 1981, in the international year of disabled. The Organization is mainly
engaged in the eradication of Blindness, Rehabilitation of Physically and Mentally
handicapped by providing free Aids and appliances, Polio Surgery and Teaching,
Training, treatment & facility of special school, etc. Similar help has also been made
available to since its establishment. deaf and dumb, Cerebral palsy, autistic children and
the Aged
The Organization has been continuously marching forward in the field of providing
relief to the disabled, partially blind and the elderly citizens of project area.
Shree Chandrabhanu Gupta Kritrim Ang Nirman Kendra :As a further mile stone the Organization has established an Artificial Limbs
manufacturing workshop of its own at Mathura namely, “Shree Chandrabhanu Gupta
Kritrim Ang Nirman Kendra, Masani-Delhi Marg, Mathura” The centre is equipped
with essential machinery and Equipment required for the purpose of manufacturing of
artificial limbs and appliances. This workshop has the capacity of providing free artificial
limbs to the disabled with the facility of free lodging and boarding of 30 Handicapped at
a time who comes for help. The manufacturing and preparation of artificial limbs and
other appliances is managed by trained handicapped staff, This centre started working
from 2nd October 1981. Till now more than 1.5 Lacks handicapped have been benefited by
this centre.
Special School for Mentally Retarded Children (SAMBAL)Kalyan Karoti, Mathura has also established a special School for Mentally
Retarded Children in Campus of Kalyanam Karoti, Mathura. The name of this school is
SAMBAL. SAMBAL is providing teaching, training, treatment and rehabilitation to
mentally and Physically challenged children. There are 132 special children that are
getting Education, training, psychotherapy, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, Speech

therapy and regular health check up. Besides these SAMBAL students get vocational
Training like – candle making, Agarbatti / Dhoopbatti making, different type of cards
making, sewing and cutting of dresses, toy making, Guldasta making. Purposes of these
training are to do minimize the dependency to others.
We develop the I.Q. of the M.R. Children through cultural programs, Music therapy
and Dance therapy, Play therapy. All the above activities are done in the supervision of
well qualified trained & experienced technical Staff.
. The philosophy of the organization is to entrust brotherhood in the community and
draw committed professionals to help alleviate the sufferings in the society.

To provide home base early intervention facilities in rural and remote areas.
To provide early intervention care to segregate and isolated Children.
Medical facilities (Surgery, Treatment, health check-up, immunization).
Developing pre-school and daily living school.
To provide healthy, hygienic and least restrictive environment.

Shree Jee Baba Charitable Eye Hospital
“Shree Jee Baba Charitable Eye Hospital” at Goverdhan Road, Mathura
established on 06 August 1996. The Hospital has capacity 75 beds General ward, and 6
beds private ward. Well equipped Operation Theatre with essential equipments. Well
qualified eye surgeons and experts are available round the clock for the public at free of
cost.
Kalyanam Karoti Polio Hospital -
The organization has been running a special hospital for polio affected children.
Regularly 1st week of every month more than 125 Polio Patients get benefit in this hospital
through corrective surgery. After surgery Calipers are also provided free of cost to
needed person. Beside treatment surgery and medicines organizations also provide
lodging and boarding to all the patients with their attendants’. The Organization has
completed more than 10,000 corrective surgery of Polio affected children.
Sachal Chikitsa Sewa (Mobile Dispensary)
Kalyanam Karoti is running Mobile Dispensaries at various remote and rural areas
of Mathura district. The mobile dispensary unit provides free qualitative health services
for poor people. Every year about 100,000 unnerved people are benefited through this
service.
Kalyanam Karoti Physiotherapy & Occupational Therapy Centre
Thee Important and basic objectives of this project of Kalyanam Karoti is to
provide physical therapy by the means of Electrical modality and Exercise therapy to the
physically disabled children and people. Therapy is given to the children suffering from –
Cerebral Palsy Hemiplegia Paraplegia Polio Arthritis Spondalitis Other Neurological disorders
Treatment and Therapy is also given to other people suffering from various
Orthopedic problems ,neurological problems and musculoskeletal problems .

CAMP ACTIVITIES
1 Eye Camps
Organization conducts eye camps at different place. In these camps our team
visit to rural areas and assess the patients and select for the operation. At the date
of camp our transport take them from their house to camp place. In Camp the all
facilities of medicines, Surgery, lens, including lodging and boarding,
transportation are also free available to the patients with their attendants. After
operation we take off the patient to their home. At the time of discharge they get
medicine as per need.
After 2nd, 3rd and 5th week the experts team visits for follow up of the operated
patients.
The organization has organized up to 689 Eye relief Camps till March 2013
and examined 6,16,324 patients and carried out 1,21,380 cataract Operations
(IOL and general). The details of last 03 years are given below-

8.2. CAMPS FOR HANDICAPPED PERSON
( Aids and Appliances Distribution Camp)
Kalyanam Karoti Rehabilitate the physically challenge persons through this well
reputed and well known department “Chandrabhanu Gupt Kritrim Ang Nirman
Kendra”. The physically challenged persons rehabilitated throughout the year by
providing Artificial limbs, Calipers, Crutches, Cane, Blind Sticks, Tricycles,
Wheelchairs, Hearing Aids and all the different types of aids & appliances.
There are the facilities with free lodging and boarding for the patients who came
from far distance to our centre.

For manufacturing all the above Aids & appliances the organization has well
equipped workshop and well qualified & experienced professionals. Besides this the
center activities, Kalyanam Karoti, arrange a no. of camps with in the states as well as
out of state also. There are number of districts such as Aligarh, Hathras, Etah, Agra,
Mathura, Jhansi, Lalitpur etc. where camps are regularly organized. In other states such
as Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab, M.P, Himachal Pradesh, Uttaranchal, West Bengal
etc. the camps are also organized.
The organization has organized up to 742 free handicapped Camps till March
2013 and given free Artificial Limbs and aids / appliances to 1,51,469 handicapped

8.3 CAMPS FOR POLIO SURGERY
Those patients who belongs to backward and remote areas and due to any reason
theyo are unable to reach here. We organize an assessment camp and select the patient
for surgery. After that we organize a free Polio Corrective Surgery Camps at deferent
places in collaboration with different organization like Beriwala charitable Trust,
Kolkata, Rashtriya Punarvas and Prashichhan Kendra NIRTAR, Cuttack etc. and do
this work . This type activities done in not only in U.P. but also in other states like
Rajasthan, M.P., Punjab, Haryana, Bengal, Uttaranchal etc. Till now more than 6000
children are benefitted through these activities.
The organization has organized up to 88 free Polio Corrective Surgery Camps till
2011 and examined 35,849 polio patients and carried out 11,020 polio Operations. The

Area Profile Mathura, known throughout the country for its religious heritage, is spread in 3811
sq. kms. With an approximate population is nearly 03 million. 70% of the population
lives in 1023 villages. It has 12 blocks & 575 village panchayats and is well connected
with road & railways. Agriculture is the main industry. It also has a couple of large scale
industries like Indian Oil Refinery, Pharmaceutical industries in addition to another
thousand of small scale and cottage industries. The only available health facilities in
public sector is to cater to the health needs of nearly 2.5 million population of the district
are: 40 PCHS, 27 Family welfare centre’s, 258 family welfare sub centers, 2 centers for
communicable disease, 2 T.B. centers, & 29 allopathic Clinics. The area does not have
any specialty service available for mental retardation or children with developmental
delays.
