Time to travel means time for a holiday: a time to rest, a time to relax. And especially importantly: a time which should be as worry-free as possible – in particular when it comes to your personal safety or the safety of your belongings. As already mentioned at the beginning: to protect your vehicle and accessories, you would be hard-pressed to find more specialised and effective components than those from THITRONIK. All our wireless components are coded and immune to manipulation attempts and our gas alarms have been specifically and precisely designed for widely differing gases. Thanks to our completely auton-omous safe.lock module, we can even protect the central locking system of all Fiat Ducatos and other identically built vehicle models built in 2006 and later against replay attacks (safe.lock integrated into WiPro III). Unique on the market. Retrofitting with this model is even possible in most cases. These are not empty promises: compare us against the competition – you will be hard-pressed to find a more powerful alarm and security system. An opin-ion which, incidentally, renowned trade magazines share. In 2017 and 2018 the editors of the trade
magazine ‘Reisemobil International’ recognised the THITRONIK WiPro III alarm system and the THITRONIK G.A.S.-pro gas alarm with the coveted first-place position in the largest ever comparison test for security systems. The testers praised the high security standard as well as another essen-tial aspect of our security modules: the comfort-able and straightforward use. This already starts with the dealer, who appreciates the comparatively uncomplicated and fast installation of the modules, and continues to the customer, who must hardly do more than press a button on the remote control – and all systems are promptly armed and secured: vehicle, windows, roof vents and storage compart-ment hatches, and if so desired even your loose ac-cessories in front of the camper. Highly effectively, precisely and with no security gaps.
Do you have questions about our modules? Do you want some tips and information about retrofitting? Contact us. At the end of this catalogue, you will find a listing of all our competent THITRONIK Pre-mium Partners.

All-round security … THITRONIK modules: a strong team
The THITRONIK modules are all strong players individually. As a team, however, they make for an unbeatable system. An unauthorised attempt to enter the vehicle triggers an alarm just as an attempt to steal a beloved accessory does.
Precise vehicle location and highly effective gas alarms convincingly round out our concept.

The problem with motion detectors
Hardly a safety net for leisure vehicles is more
hole-ridden than the motion detector. Frequent false alarms are destined to occur – or even worse
the alarms are disabled by users.
All-round securityAn alarm system only offers all-round protection if it can be enabled when people are inside. A small appeal to stop the nonsense of outdated motion detectors.
Let’s be honest. What do you expect of an alarm system in your motorhome or caravan? That it per-fectly protects your vehicle and belongings when you’re not there? That’s absolutely fine. No ob-jections to this high demand. But what if you are not there, but your dog is in the vehicle? You don’t have a dog? Alright – let’s take it one step further: you or your partner, children or grandchildren are in the vehicle! You are cooking, watching television or want to take a nap at noon or feel comfortable parked at a very isolated site at night. Wouldn’t it be good if all storage compartment hatches, windows and doors were actively se-cured? We are certain: you would answer this question with a loud ‘Of course’. Which puts us in the middle of a heated discussion: how do motion detectors meet these demands? Or to be more specific: does it even make sense to have motion detectors as the central pillar of a security concept in leisure vehicles? We at THITRONIK are convinced that the answer to this is ‘Absolutely not’.
13
FALSE ALARMtriggered by …
A closer look at motion detectors As the name suggests, motion detectors respond to motion and immediately trigger an alarm if they detect a motion. That’s a wonderful thing in your car – we agree. However, in a leisure vehicle other factors determine whether an alarm system should be used. As long as you are not there, the alarms could remain enabled. However, even if you leave a window or roof vent open to let air in, all it takes is a curtain fluttering in the wind to activate a mo-tion sensor and thereby trigger a false alarm. You could lower the sensitiv-ity of the sensors – fine, but by doing so you also lower the security level of the system.
Irritating factor: false alarmsAnd honestly: constant false alarms are very an-noying – for you and your neighbours alike. But the weightiest argument against motion detectors re-mains: they offer no protection whatsoever when people are inside the vehicle – because they have to be disabled for this typical situation. Once they are switched off, and only in higher-end systems, only the vehicle doors are secured, and
possibly (if retrofitted at great effort and expense) the body door and one or two windows by wired sensors. Yet those are the laudable exceptions – and as already mentioned: installation of the wired sensors requires unnecessarily high investments. It can be done much more cheaply and elegantly – and securely besides. But we’ll get to that later. However you look at it: the security concept of the motion detector for leisure vehicles remains patchy. Moreover, roof windows, side windows, rear garage and storage compartment hatches remain
unsecured. An absolute absurdity, as we at THI-TRONIK see it. And you can be sure about one thing: if motion detec-tors would only optimise
a single aspect of the THITRONIK security con-cept – we would be offering them to our customers tomorrow. Right now we are certain – this aspect does not exist. And therefore we continue to rely on the coherent combination of an efficient alarm system, easy-to-add wireless sensors and a tech-nically advanced GPS vehicle locating system. Trust us: in the development of all our products for leisure vehicles, your safety is our top priority. … fluttering

… insects flying by

The decisive point is: the security concept of the motion detector
remains patchy.

Advantages and disadvantages of motion detectors and wireless magnetic contacts
Motion detectors
Wireless magnetic contacts Advantages
- Easy no-drill installation- Fast and inexpensive retrofitting with any number of contacts- Wireless radio connection- Individual control of all wireless magnetic contacts (airing function)- Teach-in on the central control unit at any time- Sabotage protection through a second sensitive reed contact- Low battery early warning- Simple operation- Warning if windows are open when you are setting off (pre-departure check/vent-check)
Advantages
- Detects intruders in the vehicle when the owner is away- Secures the entire interior- Cheap in terms of acquisition cost because only one device is required
Disadvantages
- Highly prone to false alarms- Restricted freedom of movement of occupants of the vehicle with an enabled
motion detector- Must be disabled when campers present- Limited protection with lowered sensitivity- No protection of storage compartment hatches or rear garage
Disadvantages
- Each relevant opening must be secured with a separate wireless magnet contact
- Higher acquisition cost because of multiple components

Reception blockedCriminals use radio jam-mers to superimpose jam-ming signals on the signals from the wireless contacts of alarm systems. They do not succeed with the wireless magnetic con-tacts from THITRONIK. The system is immune to such jamming attempts, detects the manipulation attempt and emits an alarm.

interfering signal
Criminals are sometimes very creative. They quick-ly recognised in the past that hinged windows and storage compartment hatches on motorhomes did not represent a serious hurdle for a determined burglar. Usually a standard screwdriver was all that was needed to lever out the locks. Now it was up to the manufacturers of alarm sys-tems to develop a reliable system for effectively se-curing windows and doors. The first wireless mag-netic contacts came on the market. They are easy to install with the provided small adhesive surfaces and a weak magnetic field between the magnet and the sensor signals to the central control unit: everything is okay. When the alarm system is ena-bled, if the sensor and the magnet separate, which happens during a break-in attempt – the sensor sends a radio signal to the central control unit and
the alarm sounds. That’s the theory. We spoke of creative criminals. Motivated intruders quickly rec-ognised that this radio signal can be splendidly su-perimposed with a jammer signal. The effect: when the window or hatch is levered open the sensor sends a radio signal – but the signal doesn’t reach the central control unit. No alarm sounds. Incident-ly, these jammers are inaudible to humans. Well, criminals aren’t the only ones who can be creative. Engineers at THITRONIK have developed extremely precise wireless contacts which are completely im-mune to jammers. If the central control unit detects a jamming attempt, it emits an alarm. As you can see: with THITRONIK products you are always a step ahead even with resourceful criminals.

CAMPINGFURNITURE
Radio cable loopThe clever way to protect your accessoriesIt isn’t easy with valuable accessories. Not every camper wants to go to the trouble of stowing them in the rear garage every night or constantly secur-ing them to things using huge locks. Owners of a WiPro III alarm system can secure their accessories in a much more comfortable way: by simply inte-grating a THITRONIK radio cable loop into the se-curity system. Versatile, fast, secure …Basically, the cable loop is closely related to our wireless magnetic contacts for doors and windows. The only difference is that with it the holder is also the magnet and the free end of the cable loop in turn the sensor. The highlight: the holder can be mounted at any location on or in the vehicle. Using the cable loop is extremely easy. Just pull the slide unit on the cable loop through the accessory to be secured, such as the bike frame, the base of the portable satellite dish or the leg of the expen-sive camping furniture. Now guide the slide unit through the loop at the end of the cable loop (the loop is now closed) and insert it into the holder – that’s it. If the WiPro III alarm system is ‘armed’, the accessories are also secured. If snatchers now fumble with the loop, attempt to pull the slide unit out of the holder or sever the ca-ble, the central control unit immediately emits an alarm. The system also promptly detects jamming attempts or external magnetic fields.
Incidentally, you can integrate up to 100 cable loops into the THITRONIK security system.
17
A strong teamThe radio cable loop really shows its strengths when the
THITRONIK Pro-finder is on board along with the WiPro III alarm system. Thanks to an SIM card in the device, the
locating system can communicate at any time with one or if desired several mobile phones.
If the cable loop triggers an alarm, the owner is immediately informed by text message and can take the appropriate actions. Like all wireless contacts from THITRONIK, the
cable loop is operated with button cells (CR 2032). Long before the battery is exhausted, the user receives a status
message via the central control unit prompting him or her to replace them.
The THITRONIK cable loop comes with a black or white holder, for example, a slide unit – selectively with a length
of 2.5 or 5 metres.
Pre-start checkA brief moment of carelessness: the damage can be enormous. Vent-check assumes for you a short check prior to departure. Comfortably, completely automatically.
19
Refined comfort functions The awning has been cranked in, the storage compartment hatches are closed, the dog is sitting safely in the box? Then you’re ready to go. Put the vehicle in reverse and carefully manouevre out from under the tree. And crack … the branch has ripped off the open midi heki: what an annoying hassle – and how unneces-sary. Apart from incurring a financial loss, the annoying spectacle has of course thoroughly spoiled the good holiday atmosphere. The THITRONIK WiPro III’s comfort function vent-check prevents such accidents long be-fore they can happen – fully automatically and extremely comfortably for the camper. If the camper turns the vehicle key to ‘Ignition on’, the alarm system’s central control unit checks all wireless magnetic contacts installed in the vehicle and alerts the driver with a clear warning sound if an opening on the vehicle is not properly closed. Incidentally, besides roof hatches, rear garage doors are frequently for-gotten and then swing open by themselves in the first curve. If the warning signal for an open roof hatch or open sliding window sounds, the occupants can decide which of them should remain open or whether the roof hatch should not rather be closed for the upcoming motorway stretch. In any case, for now it should be closed – at least until the motorhome is safely out from under the tree.
Vent-checkAt first glance vent-check might appear to be a nice additional option on the WiPro III. For many motorhome owners, it has quickly advanced to an extremely valuable and appreciated everyday comfort function.
20
The security level of an alarm system can be read from numerous indicators, a very important one be-ing its modularity. Does the alarm system consist solely of standalone solutions that do not or only rudimentarily communicate with one another? Un-fortunately, this is still a commonly found concept which regularly shows alarming security gaps. THITRONIK has always used powerful components which both individually and especially as a team present a capable and highly efficient security concept. Our customers have complete freedom in selecting the modules. Whether you now select our Pro-find-er GPS locating system as the first module or our WiPro III alarm system as the starting component – other modules can easily be added at any time. Through the combination of modules, you then usually receive not just the sum of the individual functions of our modules, but frequently attractive bonus functions. An example: you supplement the WiPro III with the Pro-finder. You have now not only an alarm system and a locating system detached from each another, but a bonus function enabling the Pro-finder to send the notification of a break-in attempt from the WiPro III directly to your mobile phone. Now how does easy add come into play here? Well, such combinations of individual modules are easi-ly possible at any time in our system – no matter which starting components you originally chose.
Do you need another radio remote control, an ad-ditional gas alarm, further wireless magnetic con-tacts or one or two radio cable loops to secure accessories? No problem. Our development team have invested a great deal of know-how and time in order to make the integration of new components, that is, teach-in on the central control unit, as easy as possible for you. The result: the easy add function, which enables you to connect the new component to the WiPro III central control unit in just three steps: start the teach-in mode, actuate the new accessory (open/close or switch on/off) and quit the teach-in mode. Child’s play. Teach-in is even easier when custom-ers have our Pro-finder in the vehicle and can use the THITRONIK app easy add 3.0. And don’t forget: a new wireless magnetic contact can be installed to a door, storage compartment hatch or window in just a few minutes. All you need to do is clean the mounting surface and carefully position the con-tacts – easy add. No laborious and time-consuming cable laying. Despite this comfortable and comparatively un-spectacular teach-in procedure, you mustn’t for-get: the easily added accessory is equipped with highly complex and unique security functions. And as already mentioned at the beginning: a secu-rity system can only be highly effective if all com-ponents cooperate and others can be added at any time to support them.

easy add: how it works …Do you need another wireless magnetic contact for a new roof window or another cable loop or radio remote control? Inte-gration of the new module can be done in just a few seconds thanks to the easy add function.
Replay attacksWith laptops and refined software, criminals outwit the central locking systems of Fiat, Peugeot, Citroën and Iveco. The damage is often immense. THITRONIK safe.lock safely locks the vehicles again.
23
Security gap: central locking system A central locking system, or ‘CLS’ for short, should be secure. At least that’s what you think. But is it? Let’s go back a bit. In the past, reports of vehicle break-ins from motorhome owners abounded. The losses due to stolen valuables were in part immense, but the only problem was: there were no signs of forcible or violent entry into the vehicle. Did the owners possibly forget to lock their vehicles? Police and insurers could at least come to this conclusion. But the reality is: resourceful car burglars help themselves to sophisticated electronics.Let’s consider the wireless key of the Fiat Ducato and identically built models from Citroën and Peugeot as well as that of the Iveco. When the unlock button is pressed, the wireless key sends a radio signal to the vehicle’s electronics. The only problem with vehicles built in 2006 to 2018 is: the key sends an identical signal every time. A simple laptop and software avail-able on the internet are now enough to record this signal and, you guessed it, play it back at a later time – whenever the intruder wants. He or she can store the unlock signal under the number plate and gain access to the vehicle at any time. A horror scenario. Since year of manufacture 2019, standard wireless keys have become somewhat more secure on the factory side – but safe.lock also greatly optimises the security standard for these keys. The development engineers at THITRONIK have addressed this problem and developed a capable module to avert replay attacks: the safe.lock module. This module can be added as an autonomous system to any of the vehicles named above. If you want to lock a vehicle securely and protect it with an alarm system, you can rely on the WiPro III safe.lock – the safe.lock function is already integrated. How does the system work? Find out on pages 34–36.
The following vehi-cles are affected by the security gap:
- Fiat Ducato - Peugeot Boxer - Citroën Jumper - Iveco Daily
(all vehicles from year of manufacture 2006 up to and including 2018)
safe.lockThis function is more than just comfort. safe.lock effectively protects motorhomes on Ducato (or similar) bases from replay attacks. Owners can rest assured that their vehicles are secured in the best possible way.
24
Complex technology presented in a clear and easy-to-understand way: that is our THITRONIK app. It not only helps customers maintain an over-view of the WiPro III alarm system and the Pro-find-er at all times via smartphone – it also allows them to enable or disable important functions via text message practically from anywhere in the world. To aid in understanding: a connection to a mobile radio network is needed for the sending and receiv-ing of text messages. Our Pro-finder establishes this connection – it is thus an important prerequi-site for our app and the elementary functions. As a brief reminder: the Pro-finder is our proven GPS locating system, which our Premium Partners install concealed in the vehicle for you. It thus not only is pivotal for reliably locating your stolen ve-hicle anywhere in the world in real time, but also assumes the communication between your smart-phone, i.e. the app, and all THITRONIK components in the vehicle. You want to check whether the alarm is armed or whether you might have forgotten to lock the vehi-cle before you left? No problem – send a text mes-sage to receive a status message or when in doubt enable the central locking system and the alarm directly and immediately via text message. Your children or friends have arrived at the site and would like to wait for you in your vehicle? But you are still relaxing at dinner in the far-off restaurant? Send a text message to the Pro-finder and it will open the door for your loved ones. Yet it isn’t just the everyday user-friendliness that improves with
the app – basic settings can also be made much more easily with it.For example, if you want to teach in another wire-less magnetic contact to secure a new roof hatch – but you no longer know exactly how that works. Not a problem either. Via the app you can download the latest operating instructions, naturally free of charge, at any time. With the WiPro III safe.lock from serial number SN1050-004 and with the Pro-finder from SN0699-013, you can even start the teach-in mode for new contacts directly via the app. Anoth-er contact is thus integrated into the alarm system easily and in a few minutes. Because the Pro-finder still has two free outputs, you can use them to control any devices in the ve-hicle – for example, to switch on the awning lights. In this regard nearly no restrictions are placed on your imagination. As you can see: The new THITRONIK app is far more than a gimmick. The app improves both the opera-bility and the security level through its optimised overview of all the functions of our security system. And as is so often the case: we saved the best for last. What can you do personally if your motorhome is actually stolen? Well, you can see exactly where your vehicle is with the THITRONIK Pro-finder. And: With the ‘Remote vehicle immobilisation’ function, you can make sure the vehicle’s engine cannot be started again once it has stopped. For this the deal-er need only install a separate relay.

On the trail … A horror scenario: your motorhome or caravan is stolen. From right in front of your house, or even worse when you’re on holiday. Now you need to act fast because with every minute that goes by the chances of you ever seeing your vehicle again decrease. Ideally, you already received an alarm notification on your mobile phone at exactly the moment that the intruders gained access to your vehicle. You were hence able to inform the police in time before your vehicle was removed from its location – an attractive time advantage. As mentioned, an ideal case in which the THITRONIK WiPro III detected the
alarm and sent a break-in notification to you and if so desired nine other mobile phones via the Pro-finder locating system. If the THITRONIK locat-
ing system Pro-finder is installed as a standalone solution, your defaults decide when the first alarm notification is sent from the system to you. You can, for example, define a virtual fence with a radius of 900 metres around your vehicle. If your vehicle then leaves this secured circle, irrespec-tive of whether it is being driven by the intruder or towed on a trailer (car, caravan, VW bus), you will receive a theft notification. You enable this option, known as ‘geofencing’, manually when you park your vehicle and can of course switch it on or off at any time via text message. If Pro-finder and WiPro III are installed as a system, WiPro automatically enables geofencing as soon as you lock the vehicle via the central locking system.
The THITRONIK Pro-finder locates stolen vehicles in real time – a powerful tool for
the recovery operation.

All gas alarms have been developed
in-house by THITRONIK
THITRONIK exclusively uses high-quality
electronic components
All components are coordinated with one other
Did you know that gas alarms are specialists? Well, basically it’s quite simple: gases differ fundamen-tally in terms of their chemical compositions. That is hardly surprising, considering their purpose or mode of action. For this reason a gas alarm that should protect you and your family in your vehicle must of course be designed in a completely individual way for this gas. Below is a short excursus on the gases which should be taken into consideration in a vehicle.
Propane/butaneIn virtually every motorhome or caravan, campers cook with a mixture of propane and butane – also known as liquid petroleum gas (LPG) or camping gas. The components may vary depending on the sea-son, but for our consideration this is an insignificant aspect. A legally prescribed gas test guarantees a high level of safety in the vehicle, but cannot rule out the possibility of defects occurring in the gas installation. To warn our customers immediately of highly explosive gases in the event of a gas leak, THITRONIK offers special gas alarms for LPG which additionally detect KO gases.
KO gasesCriminals use KO or narcotic gases to knock out campers. They do this by pouring the liquefied gas
into the interior by means of door seals, open win-dows or holes drilled in window frames. In this way sleeping campers are easily but effectively knocked
out such that if they wake up, they may notice the intrud-ers, but they can’t do anything about it. The likelihood of such attacks hap-
pening is controversial, but experts from criminal investigation departments do not rule them out. To offer our customers the best possible protection for this case as well, our gas alarms very efficiently detect KO gases. Like propane/butane, these gases are also heavier than air, so they sink to the ground and fill up the space there. Another reason why special combination sensors are used for propane/butane and KO gases.
Carbon monoxide (CO)Insidious: carbon monoxide is both an odourless and a tasteless gas. It arises due to incomplete combustion, for example, a defective hot water or heating system. Taken up through inhalation of air, carbon monoxide rapidly leads to severe symptoms of intoxication and in extreme cases to death. CO is slightly lighter than air and thus rises to the ceiling in the camper. An aspect that clearly il-lustrates why gas alarms for LPG / KO gases and those for CO must not be installed at the same lo-cation in the vehicle.
Brief guide to gasesYou need to know about these gases

toms of intoxication and in extreme cases to death.

26 mm
Optimal use of gas alarms
CO gas alarmCarbon monoxide is lighter than air, rises in the vehicle and accumulates below the ceiling. Ergo: the CO gas alarm must be installed high up in the vehicle.
Propane/butane gas alarmIf the propane–butane mixture flows out of the gas system in the vehicle, it collects in the floor region and then rises slowly, given a sufficient flow of gas. Ergo: the propane/butane gas alarm must be in-stalled as close to the floor as possible.
Narcotic gas alarmNarcotic gases are also heavier than air. They fill the space from the floor upwards. To warn the ve-hicle occupants promptly, the sensor must there-fore be placed close to the floor.Ergo: a narcotic gas alarm must be installed in the vicinity of the floor. Combination sensors for propane/butane and narcotic gas are technically feasible.
Combination gas alarmsThey should warn of both the deadly CO gas and of propane/butane and narcotic gases. As de-scribed above, different types of gas require spe-cific sensors. Ergo: stay away from combination gas alarms that claim to detect propane/butane, KO gases and carbon monoxide. That is technically not possible.
Small, fine, invisible …
Properly installed, the G.A.S.-pro and the additional CO sensor are completely out of sight, hidden behind a piece of furniture or the mo-torhome or caravan wall. There the fitter joins them – all that can be seen are two tiny openings for the sensors. Absolutely inconspicuous.

Comfort functionsThe THITRONIK security system offers you these unique functions developed specifically for motorhomes and caravans.
easy addThe THITRONIK security system can be extend-ed through the addition of any number of wireless magnetic contacts, gas alarms or radio cable loops to secure accessories. In combination with the Pro-finder, the app assists with teach-in in the ver-sion easy add 3.0.
Silent functionLoud honking of the alarm system at night at the site? An absurdity that with some alarm systems doesn’t make you any friends with the nightly dis-arming or arming of the alarm. It’s completely dif-ferent with the WiPro III: you can also easily operate it quietly – for example, if someone has to leave the vehicle briefly in the night.
Panic alarmYou notice someone lurking around your vehicle trying to gain access or perhaps steal the valua-ble e-bikes from the rear luggage rack? Press both keys on the radio remote control simultaneously and the WiPro III will activate a loud alarm to scare away potential intruders.
Airing functionYou want to have perfect all-round protection through the enabled alarm system at night? But you want to leave one or more side windows se-cured with wireless magnetic contacts open to let in some air? No problem. Our system does in fact
inform you if a contact is not closed (you might have simply forgotten to close the window), but it accepts this if you confirm it manually. You can then easily quickly close/open the window later in the night to change the opening angle without triggering the alarm. Only if you actually keep the window closed for several seconds does the WiPro III recognise that the opening should remain secure and arm the associated wireless magnetic contact.
Vent CheckRoof vents and side windows should generally remain closed when you are driving – unless you deliberately open a roof window to the first airing position. The THITRONIK system will hence always inform you when you switch on the vehicle ignition if a contact, whichever one, is not yet closed (cable loop excluded). In this way you can close windows and hatches to avoid damage – or deliberately leave them in certain positions.
THITRONIK AppThrough numerous useful additional functions and the improved straightforwardness of the alarm system, the THITRONIK app optimises our security standard even more.
Battery level indicatorDon’t worry about failure: all our contacts provide advance warning and prompt you to replace the battery.

safe.lock
They are at the heart of the THITRONIK security system: the WiPro III alarm systems. They are spe-cifically developed and conceived for use in leisure vehicles, with no ifs or buts, with no compromises. The result is a highly efficient security concept that guarantees comfortable handling and easy retrofitting with additional components at any time despite its advanced, complex electronics. Let’s get to the details: How do the two versions WiPro III and WiPro III safe.lock differ? In principle, both systems are designed completely identically. A WiPro III is thus suitable for just about every com-mon base vehicle for motorhomes. The safe.lock version, on the other hand, supple-ments the ‘normal’ WiPro III with a special module, a security feature, which closes a blatant securi-ty gap in the Fiat Ducato, Peugeot Boxer, Citroën Jumper and Iveco (year of manufacture 2006–2018) – and is in fact only required by these vehi-cles. This gap is based on the inadequate coding of the radio signals through which the standard wire-less key and the central locking system on these vehicles communicate. In short: the WiPro III safe.lock solves this problem by constantly changing the radio signals. For de-tailed information please read the articles entitled ‘Replay attacks’ (p. 22) and ‘safe.lock module’ (p. 62).The main pillar of the WiPro III alarm system: the unique wireless magnetic contacts. Unique be-cause its security level far exceeds that of any other commercial wireless contact. In this way THITRONIK wireless magnetic contacts guarantee the best possible protection against manipulation attempts using external magnetic fields or jamming attacks using jammers. And unique also because customers can complete-ly unproblematically and rapidly integrate up to 100 wireless magnetic contacts into the security net-work if so desired. Read the article entitled ‘easy add’ on page 20 to find out how to do that.Incidentally, you can also use our Pro-finder locat-ing system to communicate with the WiPro III at any

Connection ModuleComfortably operate all functions of the Pro-finder and the WiPro III with your smartphone.
Bring together what belongs together. Just in time for the 2020 season, THITRONIK offers you a clever building block for optimising the THITRONIK secu-rity system: The connection module. This module connects your smartphone to the WiPro III alarm system via app and Bluetooth in the vicinity of your motorhome. From now on authorised users can comfortably arm or disarm at any time. For users of a WiPro III safe.lock that also accesses the existing central locking system, the vehicle can be unlocked and locked without the vehicle key and hand-held transmitter. The connection module can also be integrated if the Pro-finder is already installed. THITRONIK offers a currently one-of-a-kind fea-ture through a collaboration with the navigation and smartwatch experts at Garmin. In the future the se-curity system from THITRONIK will be able to com-municate with Garmin smartwatch (from Garmin Fenix 5+) via a connection module – at an absolute-ly secure encrypted frequency. A special THITRON-IK app is also installed on the watch (Garmin calls these apps ‘widgets’). Via this widget it is now pos-sible to arm or disarm the alarm system and lock or unlock the vehicle with the WiPro III safe.lock simply by pressing a button on the watch. If you set out to go swimming, biking, hiking or climbing or carry out any other leisure activity, you do not need to bring your wireless key or your smartphone with you. Thus you don’t need to find a good hiding spot on the beach when you want to get into the water to go swimming or surfing. The smartwatch also assumes
the task of the wireless key in the vehicle – for lock-ing the vehicle from the bed at night, for example. In critical situations the panic alarm can also be trig-gered via the watch through the push of a button. The connection module of course also has CI-BUS capabilities for further applications and connection to additional vehicle functions.

Vehicle locating
Geofencing
Fast and precise vehicle location – this is exactly what the Pro-finder from THITRONIK enables. For this it uses the global positioning system, or ‘GPS’ for short. Unlike cheap systems that often only use the mobile radio network for location, GPS guaran-tees reliable location determination with nearly full coverage throughout the world. Now if criminals steal the vehicle, regardless of whether it is being towed on a trailer or driven, the Pro-Finder immediately notifies the vehicle owner as soon as the vehicle leaves a circle of radius 900 metres around the last location. Once the alarm has gone off, the Pro-finder goes into a kind of watchful sleep mode. It remains active, but cannot be local-ised by special scanners. The Pro-finder is certainly not easy to find: THITRONIK partners are instructed to install it in a concealed and inaccessible place in the vehicle. The position data can be sent to up to 10 mobile phones and can be shown on Google Maps. They are so precise that an address can even be shown directly in densely populated areas. If in exception-al cases there are not enough satellites available to enable the location to be determined definitive-ly, the Pro-finder sends the coordinates of the last clearly determined position. If so desired, the owner can also send status mes-sages and position data or obtain information about the current speed at fixed intervals. Combining the Pro-finder with the WiPro III yields a complex, powerful alarm system. If the WiPro III detects a break-in attempt or re-ceives a ‘gas alarm’ notification, the Pro-finder immediately sends a text message containing the corresponding information.Even if a family member manually activates a panic alarm in the vehicle, a warning is sent to a desired mobile phone. A huge security plus. However, in one case even the WiPro III is power-less: if the vehicle is loaded on to a trailer without a break-in attempt being made, the alarm system will not detect a critical situation. But even for this case
the system is prepared: when the vehicle is locked via wireless key, the WiPro III automatically enables the Pro-finder’s geofencing function. The Pro-find-er sends the alarm notification as soon as the ve-hicle passes the 900-metre radius. A clever plan B.

GPS-proIn some, albeit few, vehicles, the reception of the internal GPS antenna on the Pro-finder is not strong enough. This is the case, for example, if the Pro-finder is mounted behind metal components. For such installation situations, THI-TRONIK offers the GPS-pro, an external GPS antenna which guarantees excellent reception of the GPS signal. The C.A.S. III is currently the most powerful alarm system for caravans on the market. It is roughly the counterpart to the WiPro III for motorhomes. As an electronic control centre, it cooperates with a variable customer-defined number of wireless magnetic contacts. These secure doors, windows, drawbar boxes or storage compartment hatches. THITRONIK offers the radio cable loop as an attrac-tive accessory with which bikes can be secured to the drawbar rack or portable satellite dishes in front of the caravan. But the C.A.S. III is special: it can be operated both from an on-board 12V electrical system and at any time independently for around 48 hours via its inte-grated rechargeable battery. It is completely water-proof – even the salt water spray at seaside camp-ing sites can’t harm it. In addition, it can be mounted on the caravan roof in record time and in critical situations signals an alarm situation via extremely bright LEDs and the integrated 110 dB siren.Like the WiPro III, the C.A.S. III completely does away with motion detectors. Thus, travellers can be inside the vehicle at any time, even when the complete alarm protection system is enabled. An immense advantage that provides you with the maximum security, for example, if you make a spontaneous, unplanned overnight stop at a some-what sinister-looking motorway service area. The C.A.S. III can be comfortably enabled or disa-bled with the THITRONIK radio remote controls – if both buttons on the remote are pressed simultane-ously, the panic alarm sounds. The THITRONIK C.A.S. III naturally also offers attrac-tive comfort functions such as the airing function.

C.A.S. III: the optimal accessory
Remote alarm
Informed in real timeCaravan broken into or stolen? Just a few seconds later you will receive an alarm notification on your mobile phone and can take the appropriate actions as soon as possible.
A particularly attractive function of the C.A.S. III: the optional remote alarm. In combination with the GSM/GPS combination module, the alarm system can send the GPS coordinates of the caravan to up to 10 mobile phone numbers in the event of a break-in attempt. If the caravan leaves a circle of radius 900 metres around the location (geofenc-ing), the system automatically sends an alarm. Thus, the owner can locate the caravan and dis-play its location on a special map program such as Google Maps at any time.

Wireless magnetic contacts 868You’ve already read the article entitled ‘Anti-jam-ming’ (p. 15)? Then you have a clear picture of the unique performance capabilities of our wireless magnetic contacts. The chapter escapes you? Then we would be hap-py to inform you here about one of the most un-assuming and yet most important players in our THITRONIK security team. In short: Wireless magnetic contacts can be found in all kinds of security systems in nearly uncounta-ble numbers on the market. Most of these contacts have one thing in common: they come from the Far East and have no specific ability whatsoever to de-fend themselves against manipulation attempts. Even a second magnet placed in their vicinity or a jammer can trick such magnetic contacts (see p. 15). The wireless magnet contacts from THITRONIK are immune to these manipulation attempts, recog-nise them and immediately trigger an alarm.
For installation on light-coloured body doors or storage compartment hatches, we recommend our white contacts; on darker windows the black con-tacts are nearly completely invisible.Incidentally, the THITRONIK wireless magnetic contacts do not transmit radio signals constant-ly – only when they are activated. So no need to worry about electrosmog. This is also the reason why the small commercial CR2032 button cell can easily remain in use for two years. And long before the battery dies, it sends a timely radio signal to the central control unit, which in turn warns the owner to change the battery. You are asking yourself what the addition ‘868’ means? It simply describes the modern and secure frequency band used by THITRONIK for wireless magnetic contacts. Cheap products still frequently use the completely outdated standard frequency of 433 MHz. This frequency is extremely susceptible to noise, has become completely congested and should not be used in alarm systems.

Radio remote control 868Are you familiar with this scenario? You’re relax-ing in the rear bed at night and wondering if all the doors are closed and the alarm is enabled. The vehi-cle key is far away in the front in its reserved usual spot. This means you have to get up and trudge to the front. Simply annoying.Alternative: you reach for the THITRONIK radio re-mote control. It gets its own usual spot wherever you like. Now you can lock or unlock the vehicle at any time or trigger the panic alarm in a critical situ-ation in which you feel threatened to draw attention to yourself. However, there are still far more mundane and un-spectacular uses for an additional radio remote control. For example, if you want to allow another family member to access the vehicle, or if you just want to have a spare key. You can leave the cable loops in the storage compartment if you aren’t using them; when you need them again, you can take them out and use them to secure your accessories in front of the vehicle – or in the rear garage. Just snap the transmitter unit (slide unit) into the holder – and you’re done. Casual thieves who seize the opportunity to steal something are extremely startled by the alarm. And even if snatchers succeed in breaking into a huge lock you secured your expensive e-bike with – as soon as they manipulate the cable loop, the alarm sounds and gives you the chance to react.Between you and me: we at THITRONIK consider the cable loop to be one of the most valuable ac-cessories in our security system.
With a white holder and end, the radio cable loop 868 can be discreetly placed on a white vehicle rear or side wall.

The wireless gas alarm 868 supplements and op-timises the alarm systems WiPro III (safe.lock) and C.A.S. II and III. It detects even the smallest amounts of propane/butane or narcotic gases and thereby raises the safety standard in the vehicle to a whole new level.Through its connection to the on-board electrical system, it is permanently operational – with no bat-tery replacement necessary. To save on even the minimal current consumption of < 70 mA (for exam-ple, in winter storage), you can simply switch off the gas alarm via its housing. After the wireless gas alarm has been wired to the on-board electrical system, it still needs to be taught in on the central control unit. With the new THITRONIK app, this is a snap. Customers not using the app are helped by our easy-to-understand op-erating instructions.

THITRONIK offers two different sirens: additional sirens without and back-up sirens with integrated power supplies. The latter are almost never used in the Ducato, but can rather be found in vehicles (Mercedes Sprinter) in which the car battery is lo-cated in the engine bay (power supply could be in-terrupted by the intruder) and for which the horn cannot be controlled by the WiPro III. This is then precisely the case if the horn does not work when the ignition is off. Caravans with the G.A.S.-pro but without a self-sufficient power supply are also de-lighted with a back-up siren. Thanks to its inter-nal rechargeable battery, it generates much more noise than the siren integrated into the G.A.S.-pro; the battery is charged by the vehicle when the ve-hicle is in motion. The additional siren supports all alarm systems that want to become much louder and whose power supply is guaranteed by an on-board electrical sys-tem – for example, with an installed G.A.S.-pro in the motorhome or caravan (self-sufficient package).

As a second option, the module sends an alarm via text message when the caravan leaves a virtual circle with a radius of about 900 metres around the last location (geofencing). In the text message, the owner is shown the current GPS coordinates of the caravan and its current speed. These data can be queried regularly if so desired. Defence against replay attacks
safe.lock module
63
First of all: the THITRONIK safe.lock module is a special development and designed solely for a se-lection of affected vehicles. The retrofit module is suitable for the Fiat Ducato and identically built ve-hicles as well as the Iveco – for all models starting from year of manufacture 2006. Motorhomes on VW, Mercedes or Ford bases are not affected by the wireless key security gap (see page 23) and thus also not susceptible to replay attacks. They require neither the safe.lock module nor, should an alarm system be desired, the WiPro III safe.lock. You are well advised to use the WiPro III without safe.lock – your vehicles are safe from replay attacks anyway.
What does the safe.lock module do? Basically, it is conceived for the above-mentioned vehicles as a supplement to the factory-side central locking sys-tem to close the security gap. As a brief reminder: their central locking systems communicate in the factory state with the wireless keys via an uncod-ed radio signal that can be intercepted and used to open the vehicles by criminals. THITRONIK now combines the safe.lock module with the central locking system of the vehicle; the circuit board in the original key is replaced by a safe.lock circuit board and a new transponder for immobilisation to be purchased separately. As a result, the circuit board and the central control unit communicate ex-clusively through constantly changing rolling codes. The same signal is never sent twice; the central locking system and the wireless key use a type of secret code. Criminals can still record the signals, but the signals are completely useless for unlock-ing. The safe.lock module recognises it as a false signal and as a result the central locking system ignores it. The vehicle remains locked.
THITRONIK offers the safe.lock module expressly to customers who don’t have on-board alarm systems and only want to close the wireless key security gap. If there is no on-board alarm system, THITRON-IK recommends the WiPro III safe.lock – a combina-tion of alarm control unit and safe.lock module.

G.A.S.-pro IIIThe new
generation 2020
NEW in 2020
69
The better is known to be the enemy of the good – and thus more powerful new developments make some proven products pale in comparison. That doesn’t stop us at THITRONIK from constantly re-thinking, optimising and adding new functions to our products. One of our latest products: the G.A.S.-pro III. It will be launched on the market in 2020 and together with the current G.A.S.-pro will round out our as-sortment in the exclusive high-end segment. It can do everything the standard G.A.S.-pro can, only some things even better in many aspects. G.A.S.-pro III will even be available in two basic set-ups. the familiar one with an integrated LPG or nar-cotic gas sensor and one with an integrated CO gas sensor. Each of the two variants can be combined with an additional gas or CO sensor. Otherwise the G.A.S.-pro III presents itself as a technical quantum leap: with an integrated LPG/KO gas sensor, its current consumption drops down to a mi nimum of 26 mA; with an integrated CO gas sensor, it is a mere 9 mA. The internal siren increases to a penetrating 94 dB and an integrated humidity sensor optimises the already precise measurement when there is high humidity in the vehicle or exhaled air in the direct vicinity of the sensor. Additionally, an alcohol fil-ter (LPG/KO gas sensor) eliminates false alarms caused by alcohol in the air. Last but not least: Thanks to an integrated wireless unit, the new G.A.S.-pro III no longer has to be con-nected to the central control unit, but rather only to the on-board electrical system. Subsequently connect to the central control unit via easy add. Finished.

Gas alarm system
G.A.S.-pro
71
The THITRONIK G.A.S.-pro is basically designed to be a self-sufficient modular gas alarm system. Once it has been connected to the on-board elec-trical system and the standard gas sensor (pro-pane/butane, narcotic gases) has been installed, a highly effective gas alarm system with an integrat-ed 85dB siren is ready for operation. If so desired, you can connect an additional sensor for narcotic gases or propane and butane plus add a CO sensor via the third port at any time.Like all gas alarms in the THITRONIK assortment, the G.A.S.-pro also has attractive equipment fea-tures: for example, the system checks completely independently whether all activated sensors are in order and operable and provides notification if there is a defect – immediately. Manual tests by the vehi-cle owner as are required by other products on the market are thus not necessary. At the same time the system constantly readjusts the sensitivity of its sensors according to the given temperature in the vehicle. In this way the G.A.S.-pro guarantees the best possible recognition of a critical situation at all times and also prevents an-noying false alarms. However, the G.A.S.-pro can do much more. The central control unit can easily co-operate with the powerful WiPro III / WiPro III safe.lock alarm system from THITRONIK – the two units just need to be connected with a two-core cable. The G.A.S.-pro can now access the siren on the alarm control unit; the alarm situation is also indi-cated visually by the flashing warning lights. Ideally, the WiPro III and the THITRONIK locating system Pro-finder are already connected. Then every alarm activated by the gas alarm system is sent from the transmitter unit on the Pro-finder to up to 10 mobile phones. As you can see: The modular system from THI-TRONIK leaves little to be desired. And should you have another requirement – let us know.

Your motorhome or caravan is unusually long (in-terior length > 6.5 m) or living areas are separated from each other by doors? In these cases we rec-ommend installing an additional gas sensor. Escaping propane/butane gas or narcotic gases could thereby be detected much more quickly; the central control unit would trigger the alarm long be-fore a critical gas concentration arose. Incidentally, you can connect up to three sensors to the G.A.S.-pro. In addition to the integrated sensor, the G.A.S.-pro III has an input for an additional sensor (CO sensor or propane/butane sensor).

There should be a CO sensor in every vehicle – it warns of the odourless but life-threatening carbon monoxide. Installation is completely unproblematic: screw the sensor in just below the ceiling of the ve-hicle, lay the cable to the G.A.S.-pro and connect it there – and you’re done.

Universal gas alarm
GBA-IIt is extremely effective, compact and versatile in use and fea-tures an integrated siren. The THITRONIK GBA-I detects camping and narcotic gases, can, but does not have to, be permanently installed and can, but does not have to, be permanently connect-ed to the on-board 12V electrical system. Thoroughly confused? In short: via drilled holes and narrow oblong holes on the rear side, the GBA-I can be rapidly placed on screw heads on a vehi-cle wall. Position, slide down – and the GBA-I is firmly in place. It can be taken down and mounted at a similar location just as quickly. Now the user can selectively connect it to an on-board 12V electrical system or plug it into a cigarette lighter, i.e. vehicle socket, by means of a connection cable. As a third option for power supply, THITRONIK offers a 230V power supply unit for operating the GBA-I directly via the mains electricity supply – an advantage for long-term campers. This should clear up some of the confusion: the GBA-I is ideal for campers who have a clear idea as to how a gas alarm could be used flexibly at several locations.Of course, the GBA-I too also has effective temperature com-pensation and the essential sensor self-test which provides a 100% guarantee of its operability – or warns of a defect, however improbable that may be.

GBA-I gas alarm:This alarm with integrated siren does not need a con-nection to the C.A.S. II/III or WiPro III/WiPro III safe.lock. It is mounted on the wall and receives its power supply via the on-board electrical system or alternatively via vehicle or mains adaptors.

There are many arguments that speak in favour of the THITRONIK G.A.S.-plug ‘all in one’ gas alarm. Often the decisive one: it is ready for oper-ation after just one step. Simply plug it into a vehicle socket and you’re done. Nevertheless, as the G.A.S.-plug is set for propane/butane and for health-damaging narcotic gases, it should be placed as far inside the vehicle as possible. And especially importantly: the socket should be supplied with power at all times, not just when the vehicle ignition is activated.Despite the lightning-fast installation of the G.A.S.-plug, customers do not have to do without any of the comfort features of our permanently installed alarms: a warning siren and automatic temperature compensation are in-tegrated. Depending on the temperature in the vehicle, it thus completely independently and automatically adjusts its sensitivity at regular short in-tervals and thus prevents annoying and unnecessary false alarms. In critical situations it is of course ‘wide awake’ at all times and activates the alarm to protect the vehicle occupants long before a dangerous concentration of a gas is reached. The G.A.S.-plug can easily monitor vehicles with interiors up to 6.5 metres long. Is the sleeping area separated from the remaining space by a door? Then you should have it monitored by another permanently installed gas alarm system from our assortment.

Mr. Albrecht, you were the victim of a vehicle break-in?That’s correct.
Where did the intruders attempt to gain access?Via the lock on the driver’s door.
Where did it happen? On our Scandinavian tour, just south of Gothenburg, at a motorhome park. There were even several oth-er campers there. We had just switched off the telly and gone to bed. Somewhat later in the night, the alarm went off.
How then did you experience the situation concretely? When the alarm went off, my wife shouted: ‘Some-one’s fumbling with the vehicle.’ At the same time the notification from the alarm system came in on my mobile. I then got up, grabbed a torch and went out to see what was going on.
That was courageous. And the intruders? They took to their heels when the alarm sounded. Our neighbour also heard them run away right after the alarm sounded.
What originally motivated you to install the alarm system?I had the alarm system installed because someone already tried to enter my vehicle once before – at
that time via the body door. When the company THITRONIK was recommended to me I immediately got an alarm system installed.
And would you recommend our products to others now?Yes! I already have. (laughs)
We’re happy to hear that. What would you advise other campers to do to addition-ally protect themselves from break-ins apart from installing an alarm system? You can’t do without an alarm system. Even if you take all the precautions – for example, not to leave any valuables on the dashboard overnight. In our case the intrud-ers didn’t care about that. The way it looked, they were special-ised in this.
Thank you for the interview.
Peter Albrecht: ‘My wife and I were on a Scandinavian
tour when intruders tried to break into our motorhome.
Our alarm system foiled the break-in and woke us in time.’
You can’t do without an alarm system! Even if you take all the precautions.
