Air is indispensable!

People can live for weeks without food, days without liquid, but only a few minutes without air.

With our ventilation system you get a healthy and comfortable climate in your living space and thus you ensure the value of your property as well as the health of the residents.

You have purchased a ventilation system that gives high room humidi-ty and mould formation no chance! Cleaning the fans and the ceramic accumulator as well as replacing the filters is very easy. In addition, you save valuable energy through the high degree of heat recovery and make an active contribution to environmental protection.

You or other residents are allergic? Then from now on you can relax and breathe deeply at home

Do you have any questions?

We or your local factory representative are only a phonecall away!

This is how inVENTer works: Ventilation with heat recovery!

Construction

Inner cover with filter:The closeable inner cover optically closes your ventilation unit off from the inside. The integrated filter ensu-res that neither pollen nor dust can penetrate from the outside.

Ceramic heat accumulator:The honeycomb-shaped ceramic core stores the heat of the outflowing room air. When the fan has changed its di-rection of rotation, it warms up the incoming fresh air befo-re it enters the interior.

inVENTron®:Reversible fan Xenion®

and double air control unit:Xenion® ensures optimum air ex-change: it changes the direction of rotation every 70 seconds. It is em-bedded in two air control units that ensure uniform and efficient flow through the entire ceramic heat ac-cumulator.

The inVENTer ventilation system consists of ventilation units arranged in pairs, which always work in push-pull.

1 The fan of a ventilation unit rotates in one direction for 70 seconds and transports the used air outside. The cera-mic heat accumulator stores the heat of the air from the interior. The direction of rotation then changes.

2 Now the fresh air flows from the outside into the interior. In the process, the ceramic releases the stored heat back into the fresh air. A large part of the heat is thus returned to the interior with the incoming air.

In this way inVENTer ensures an optimalfeel-good atmosphere in your home.

How it works

Exterior closure:In the outdoor area, a driving rain-proof closure conceals the compo-nents of your ventilation unit. So no water can penetrate from the out-side. Integrated insulation reliably reduces external noise. With some product variants, the outer edge is integrated inconspicuously into the window reveal.

Wall sleeve:The wall sleeve is located in the ou-ter wall. All basic components of the ventilation unit are inserted into this sleeve. Depending on require-ments, additional components for sound insulation or wind protection accessories can be located in the wall sleeve.

7Information for your inVENTer ventilation system

Operation Your ventilation unit is controlled via the sMove basic controller or the MZ-Home premium controller. With the help of the controllers you can determine the type of operation and the output level in which your ventila-tion unit should operate. Depending on the controller, further functions are possible, such as setting a weekly timer. The range of functions can be further extended by sensor technology (de-mand-driven ventilation).

First steps Your ventilation unit has various output levels. They can be set alternatively in the main operating modes "heat recovery" and "continuous ventilation". Switching to the corresponding operating mode and output level is either automatic via sensors or manual. All ventilation units can be set to a pause function and/or switched off completely.

The inner cover can optionally be opened, closed or in some cases tilted. By tilting the inner cover you can influence the direction and intensity of the air volume flow as well as the sound volume of the ventilation unit.

When to choose which operating mode?

Heat recovery function: In this operating mode, the reversible fans of the ventilation units operated in pairs change the direction of rotation, resulting in alternating charging and discharging of the heat accumula-tor.

Select "Heat recovery" as the standard operating mode. During the heating periods, the outdoor temperature is colder than the indoor air temperature. The incoming air is preheated as it flows through the ceramic heat accumulator before entering the interior. It is also re-commended on summer days. The higher outside temperature compa-red to the interior significantly reduces the heat input during ventilation.

Continuous ventilation function: In this operating mode, the reversi-ble fans do not change the direction of rotation. This means that there is no heat recovery.

Select "Continuous ventilation" to cool the room in summer nights or to quickly remove used or humid room air.

Pause function: In this operating mode, the reversible fans are tem-porarily switched off. The ventilation units do not work and there is no air exchange. After the temporary pause, the fans restart automatically. Therefore, leave the inner cover open.

Select "Pause" if your ventilation unit is to be switched off temporarily, for example before going to bed.

Off function: In this operating mode, the reversible fans are switched off. The ventilation units do not work and there is no air exchange. Close the inner cover in this state.

Select "Off" if your ventilation unit is to be switched off for a longer peri-od of time, e.g. for cleaning the fans or when the inner cover is closed.

This is how inVENTer works: Ventilation with heat recovery!

8 Information for your inVENTer ventilation system

When must the inner cover be opened or closed?

Open inner cover: While the ventilation unit is in operation, the inner cover must always be open. If the "Pause function" is selected, the inner cover must be open.

Closed inner cover: Close the inner cover when the fan is switched off for a longer period of time to avoid undesired cooling of the room. If you have selected the "Off" operating mode, the inner cover must be closed.

In situations in which you are asked to close windows and doors, your ventilation unit must also be switched off and the inner cover closed.

Re-open the inner cover again as soon as you put the ventilation unit back into operation.

When can the output level be changed?

The inVENTer controllers have different power levels for the operation of the ventilation units. On average, all power levels can be used.

Increase the output level to achieve stronger ventilation. This may be necessary if there are more people in the room than usual, e.g. during celebrations, or if there is increased moisture ingress, e.g. by hanging up laundry.

Reduce the power level if there are fewer people in the room than usu-al, for example during holiday periods.Note, however, that this reduces air exchange.

This is how inVENTer works: Ventilation with heat recovery!

The MZ-Home controller is an electronic control unit for controlling the in-VENTer® ventilation units with heat recovery. Thanks to its unique and inno-vative Clust-Air® technology (multi-zone control), the MZ-Home controller controls up to four areas within a house and thus ensures individually tailored ventilation for each residential area.

For each area, operating mode and output level can be set via weekly timer or manually. The controller can be used as a basic module or with additional connected sensors, expanding its range of functions. The external interface allows the connection of a potential-free on/off switch for each zone (area), the connection of an optional VOC (volatile organic compound, "bad air") or CO2 sensor, the connection of a pressure sensor. In addition, integration into an existing house control system is possible via an analogue input. The MZ-Home controller actively controls the connected ventilation units in the operating modes:

• Heat recovery (HR)• Continuous ventilation (VENT)• Pause function (Pause)

An integrated humidity sensor monitors the relative humidity in each venti-lation area and automatically switches the ventilation unit to the dehumidifi-cation mode when it is switched on.

Overview of your inner cover Flair

To close and open the inner cover Flair, simply carefully move the panel of the inner cover evenly towards and away from the wall.

Start at the bottom of the inner cover: Slightly push the side lugs on the spacers where the cover is snapped into place inwards. Move each cor-ner away from the wall to release it from the base plate.

After all corners have been removed from the base plate, you can remove the inner panel.

Hold the cover so that the logo is on the bottom right. Place the panel straight on the base plate spacers. Carefully slide the cover toward the wall until the inner panel is closed.

Then pull the cover to the open position and the spacers will click into place. Now you can tilt the inner cover if necessary.

The inner cover Flair can be tilted upwards or downwards. This allows the air flow to be directed in a specific direction. In addition, outside noise can be further reduced in this way.

Tilting the inner panel from the open position

To tilt, press either the lower edge or the upper edge of the inner panel carefully towards the wall, depending on the desired direction.

If you want to open the inner cover completely again, simply pull the closed edge away from the wall until it clicks into place.

Page 32: for your inVENTer ventilation system · 2019. 5. 22. · 1 2. Information for your inVENTer ventilation system7 Operation Your ventilation unit is controlled via the sMove basic controller

32 Information for your inVENTer ventilation system

The inVENTer ventilation systems are mostly maintenance-free. The filters, the drawer unit with heat accumulator, double air control unit and reversible fan as well as the wall mounting sleeve should be cleaned at regular intervals. We recommend cleaning the dust filters every three months. The half-yearly cleaning of the reversible fans, air control units and ceramic heat accumulators is sufficient.

Disconnect your ventilation unit from the power supply before cleaning.Wear protective gloves when cleaning.

1. How to change your filter

The dust filters are very durable and can be washed out several times. We recommend that you clean the dust filter every three months. Replace defective or excessively dirty dust filters. The optional pollen and activated carbon filters cannot be cleaned but must be replaced. Pollen filters should only be used during the pollen period for a maximum of 4-6 weeks. Disposal with household waste is possible. Replacement filters can be ordered from your inVENTer factory representative. You can also order via Amazon.com.

Step 1: Remove the inner cover panel (see chapter: "Overview of the most important functions of your inVENTer inner covers", page 23 ff.).

If present, unscrew the sound insulation insert.

Step 2: Remove the dust filter from the base plate of the inner cover.

Step 3: The dust filter can be cleaned under warm water with a bit of detergent. The optional pollen and activated carbon filters cannot be cleaned but must be replaced.

The filters must be completely dried before being reused. We recommend the use of replacement filters to bridge the cleaning time.

Step 4: Replace the new or cleaned and completely dried filter.

Step 5: Replace the inner cover panel (see chapter: "Overview of the most important functions of your inVENTer inner covers", page 23 ff.).

Step 3: Mark the original position of the connectors. The three-pole plug can then be removed

Step 4: Remove all individual components of the ventilation unit one after the other from the wall mounting sleeve. All individual components have knobs or pull loops directed towards the interior to facilitate removal.

First pull out the reversible fans, if any, including the control units or spacers. The ceramic heat accumulators can then be pulled out.

2. How to remove the components of your ventilation unit

We recommend that the ceramic heat storage unit and inVENTron® be checked every six months for contamination and movement of the Xenion® reversible fan. Please observe the previous interruption of the power supply!

Step 1: Remove the panel of the inner cover (see chapter: "Overview of the most important functions of your inVENTer inner covers", page 23 ff.).

If present, unscrew the sound insulation insert.

Step 2: Remove the dust filter from the base plate of the inner cover.

For cleaning the thermal accumulator insert on the ventilation unit with round or square inner cover, the base plate of the inner cover must also be removed. A suitable hexagon key is attached to the base plate.

34 Information for your inVENTer ventilation system

Step 5: Disconnect the air control units from the reversible fan. They can be removed without tools: Place inVENTron® on a surface in front of you on a table. Use both hands to grasp adjacent fastening webs on the upper air control unit. Carefully bend both

webs outwards at the same time and remove them from the fan.

Step 6: Grasp the two not yet loosened fastening webs on the upper air control unit with one hand each. Carefully bend both fastening webs outwards and remove them.

Now you can remove the detached air control unit upwards. When the first air control unit is detached, turn the fan so that the remaining air control unit faces

upwards.

Step 7: Entfernen Sie das zweite Leitwerk wie oben in Schritt 5 und 6 beschrieben vom Xenion®-Ventilator.

Now you can clean the ceramic heat accumulator, the air control units and the fan.

Step 7

Removing the secondair control unit

Step 6

Removing an air control unitfrom the reversible fan

Step 5

Detaching the fastening webs from the Xenion® fan

For cleaning, vacuuming with a vacuum cleaner or blowing out with compressed air is usually sufficient.

In case of heavier soiling, the ceramic heat accumulator with foam insulation (without reversible fan) can be washed out under running warm water without detergent. For installation, the ceramic heat accumulator must be completely dry again. The foam insulation is water-repellent and only becomes damp on the surface.

Then clean the wall sleeve from the inside with a damp cloth.

35Information for your inVENTer ventilation system

4. How to clean the reversible fans and the air control units

The control units are removed from the Xenion® fan

We recommend checking the reversible fan for dirt every six months and cleaning it once a year, preferably before the heating period. You can only clean the reversible fan after the reversible fan has been removed from the wall sleeve (see section: "How to remove the components from your ventilation unit", page 31).

Step 1: The fan blades can be carefully cleaned with a brush or a soft damp cloth. Never immerse the fan in water!

Note: In regions with a high salt content in the air, the metal protective grid on the reversible fan of the iV25 and iV-Twin ventilation units can also be wiped with a slightly oily cloth. The protective grid can be unscrewed for this purpose.

Step 2: The air control units can be washed under running warm water or cleaned with a brush. Possibly existing felt strips can easily be knocked out.

Step 3: When the air control units are completely dry, reattach them to the Xenion® fan. The broad air control unit must be on the side with the fan shield. The narrow air control unit has a recess for the fan cable. When assembling, place the control unit so that the cable can be placed in the recess after the control unit has been fixed.

5. How to reassemble your ventilation unit after cleaning

Wipe the wall mounting sleeve or Inventin® insert, if present, with a damp cloth before reinserting all components.

Slide all components back into the wall mounting sleeve in reverse order to removal:

Step 1: First push the dried heat accumulator into the wall sleeve as far as it will go.

Step 2: Then push the reversible fan including the control units back into the wall sleeve. The side of the fan on which the fan shield is located must face the ceramic heat accumulator. If there is a metal protective grille on the fan, it must point towards the interior after insertion.

Step 3: The three-pole plug must be plugged in correctly (the marked line must match).

Step 4: Replace the filter and the sound insulation insert, if present. For the iV-Twin or a version with sound insulation insert, the insert must be screwed on.

Step 5: Replace the inner cover in the open state. Open the inner panel again and switch on the ventilation unit again.
