Mining Best of iMMe

86 B2B Purchase December 2016

Entrac introduces SAFER enterprise logistics solution for mining that provides most-effective on-field analysis to improve operational resource and efficiency.

Today we live in an increasingly ‘connected world’. Globally,

organisations across the sectors are leveraging the benefits of this connectivity using Internet of Things (IoT) for effective asset management and optimisation of work force. However, India Inc is far behind when it comes to adopting the advanced concepts of IoT. Seeing this as an opportunity, two young technocrats - Ravi Bulusu and Nanda Kishore – have founded a company called Entrac Solutions that helps in making insightful and effective business decisions through smart data analysis.

Before setting up this company Ravi was Director of Architecture at Nvidia and was involved in a project of Tesla’s autonomous driving whereas Nanda started his career as a software programmer in Fijitsu, Malaysia, before moving to Oracle for a 9-year stint. Coming from there, both of them realised, mining operations is one of the core areas where information technology is yet to penetrate largely. According to Ravi who is the Principal Director at Entrac Solutions, “The way mining sector handles its whole logistics and its operations today, we are

probably way behind where IT is heading. We figured out that there is a lot we could offer and create a huge difference in mining operation by analysing operational and business intelligence using inputs from their productivity, efficiency and assets management. We developed a cloud based ‘Connected Asset Ecosystem’ namely ‘entrac’.”

Entrac provides full circle capabilities - from collection of raw on-field data and run proprietary algorithms to convert the raw data into insightful and actionalable analytics. Explaining on how entrac can empower Indian mining sector, the company’s Product Management Director Nanda said, “Entrac is an advanced solution that enables an organisation to access real time on-field asset information and make quick decisions that could be the competitive differentiator.” The company provides highly customised platform with required hardware and software to meet customers’ requirement.

Talking about the challenges, Nanda said, the industry needs to be educated fast. However, he feels, Entrac will enjoy the benefits of being first-mover.

Data Mining at its BestCollection of data is one of the major parameters in the case of effective data analysis and Indian mining sector is ‘fairly standardised’ in this aspect, comments Ravi. “When the data collection is fairly standardised, it becomes much easier for us to able to integrate and implement our platform. In fact that’s one of the key points that bring ease in deployment of hardware and software.”

However, Nanda adds, the challenge lies in making sense of what has been collected. Here, entrac comes in to picture. “Entrac seamlessly resolves on-field management challenges in an intuitively coordinated manner. Our

SAFER enterprise logistics solution for mining provides most-effective on-field analysis that helps to improve operational resource and efficiency,” claims Nanda.

A true campaigner of ‘Make in India’Entrac is a true campaigner of ‘Make in India’ mission. Its state-of-the-art solutions are completely indigenised which helps customers in achieving better synchronisation with improved interface. “We are probably the only analytical platform provider that develops both hardware and software for connected asset ecosystem. This help in creating better synchronisation with improved interface. So, we are a campaigner of ‘Make in India’ mission in true sense,” Ravi adds.

Smart take offEntrac is working on an on-field management project of Chandrapur Super Thermal Power Station (CSTPS) located at Chandrapur district in Maharashtra. The project is expected to be fully operational by the first quarter of next year. Entrac is in talks with some other prominent players in the mining industry and hope to get started on those soon.
