FMBAM OVERVIEWThe program “levers” are identify, treat and connect, initiated through one phone call. Utilizing a collaborative evidenced-based model, the specific program aims are as follows:
Increase routinized substance abuse screening and correlated pregnancy testing of women among childbearing age in the City of Trenton and throughout Mercer County New Jersey.
To provide addiction treatment during pregnancy, sober living arrangements when needed, medical care for women and children, a psychosocial support system and individualized services to support recovery and avoid relapse.
To increase the likelihood and incidence of long-term recovery for pregnant women and new mothers struggling with addiction.
To establish and maintain integrated service delivery and collaborative treatment pathways among community partners.

• 24-hour/7-day referral hotline through THT

FMBAM OUTCOMES
AND EVALUATIONThe year-one findings of program as indicated in the Center for Research and Evaluation on Education and Human Services at Montclair State University are as follows:
Capital Health medical facilities/Catholic Charities Screener screened 15,729 women
With the first six month period 35 pregnant and postpartum women were enrolled in the program
100% of the women participated in Recovery Peer Supports
74% of the women enrolled in OUD Treatment at Catholic Charities
37% enrolled in Sober Living at HomeFront and Rescue Mission shelters
As of April 15, 2019
58 Women in total have received services
15 babies have been born
12 babies have been discharged with their mothers
4 mothers who entered program after delivery have been reunited with their babies due to program support
