Ambrose reports that a warrant has been issued for the arrest of Elamin Muhammad, 43, of Newark, on charges of robbery, aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose in an incident that occurred on Monday, July 1 st , 2019. At approximately 3:30 p.m., Police responded to University Hospital on a call of a man who had been stabbed. The victim was robbed in the 100 block of Evergreen Avenue by a man who stabbed him in the stomach before taking his personal property. Detectives investigating this incident identified Elamin Muhammad as a suspect and secured a warrant for his arrest. While police are actively searching for Muhammad, we seek the public’s help in quickly locating him so he can be removed from our streets. Director Ambrose urges anyone with information about the whereabouts of Elamin Muhammad to call the Department's 24- hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695- 8477) or 1-877-NWK-GUNS (1-877-695-4867). Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose reports that a warrant has been issued for the arrest of Elamin Muhammad, 43, of Newark, on charges of robbery, aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose in an incident that occurred on Monday, July 1st, 2019.
