FOOD AND FITNESS – THE RECIPE FOR PERFORMANCE?
Food Safety Consultative Council OPEN MEETING
IntroductionThe Food Safety Consultative Council (FSCC) of the Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) acts as a forum for debate on food safety issues and provides advice to the FSAI Board on areas of relevance. It is a constructive vehicle for consumers and industry to provide input to the agenda of the FSAI.
The FSCC meets regularly, and through the course of its meetings, examines segments of the food chain, from farm to fork, to review the food safety initiatives already in place and those required to ensure consumers’ interests are to the forefront.
This open meeting will discuss performance nutrition for young people. It will focus on its impact for performance and non-performance use, the proliferation of products and the effect of these on young people now and in the future. The use and management of sports supplements and the importance of a balanced diet suitable for this age group and their activities, will also be discussed. Nutrition experts and experienced athletes will expand on these topics and more during the panel debate which will be chaired by Ms Suzanne Campbell.
This event is FREE to attend.
