Healthy Options WA Policy Food and drink outlets The Healthy Options WA Policy applies to all food and drink outlets under control or management of the WA health system Cafe Cafes and coffee shops Cafeteria All outlets must supply and display: Only Green food and drinks can be promoted Ward trolleys Vending machines Snacks For more information on the Healthy Options Guidelines for food and drink outlets go to: www.healthyoptions.health.wa.gov.au 20 30 % % Red Amber No more than About 50 % Green At least Green foods are the healthiest choices, are low in saturated fat, added sugar and salt and should fill the menu Amber foods have some nutritional value but can contribute to excess energy intake and should be eaten in moderation Red foods have little or no nutritional value, can contribute to excess energy intake and should be eaten occasionally The Healthy Options WA Policy uses a ‘traffic light’ system to classify food and drinks
