Due to delays in construction starts and a reduced construction season as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, this project has been deferred and is now anticipated to be completed in 2021. The project details were presented by staff at the Public Information Centre (PIC) held on February 5, 2020. Based on staff recommendation and feedback received at the PIC, bylaw amendments to be implemented following construction will be put before Council for the following: a. Maximum speed limit reduction will be recommended on Albion Street as follows: Reduction to 40km/h between Henrietta Street to St. James Street, and Reduction to 30km/h north of St. James Street. b. Designated bicycle lanes will be recommended to be implemented within the limits of the Albion Street construction from Henrietta Street to McMurray Street. (see Figure 1) c. On-street parking on Albion Street will be recommended as follows (see Figure 2): Parking to be permitted on the east side of the street and prohibited on the west side of the road at any time. Existing parking prohibition on both sides of the street will be recommended to be extended south of Henrietta Street.
