• Is basic health care a right or a privilege?

• If you think it is a right, go to the right side of the room.

• If you think it is a privilege, go to the left side of the room.

• If you are not sure, move to the middle.

• If you do not care…don’t get sick or injured.

Healthcare Scenarios1. Jim breaks his leg and requires a cast.

2. Sarah is due to receive her Polio (highly contagious disease that can paralyze within hours) vaccine.

3. Joe drinks heavily and develops cirrhosis of the liver. He currently needs to be hospitalized to stabilize his condition.

4. Joe would like to enroll in a program to help him treat his alcoholism.

Healthcare Scenarios5. Susan has her yearly mammogram and

discovers she has breast cancer. The doctors recommend a mastectomy along with chemotherapy.

6. Susan would like reconstructive surgery after her mastectomy.

7. Jordan has diabetes and requires daily insulin monitoring. He needs an insulin pump and other equipment.

8. Sharon has had difficulty getting pregnant and would like to try in vitro fertilization to help her conceive.

9. Sharon is pregnant and would like to receive pre-natal care and counseling.

10.Bill is depressed and is on several antidepressants. He would like to see a psychiatrist to help him with him depression.
