As 2013 draws to a close, we wish to take a minute to thank you for the trust you have placed in us. Despite the challenges in our economy over the course of the year with a number of our supporting businesses leaving Sunninghill or being forced to close their doors, we have still managed to sustain and improve on those goals we have set ourselves. When we look back on 2013, we can certainly count our successes. From increased security infrastructure and less crime to the daily battle of trying to ensure we receive the services from Council that we are entitled to. Success in putting a stop to illegal or undesirable construction/businesses to keeping our suburb as clean as possible with our bi-monthly litter clearing and of course our charity work with Stop hunger now and being able to deliver 105 blankets to those less fortunate than us in the winter months. The list is endless. At the core of the Sunninghill Community Ratepayers Association is our personal commitment to our members, it is our interest to provide you with the ideal suburb, a suburb that improves the quality of our professional and personal lives. It is through this commitment that we continue to inspire excellence and efficiency from ourselves and those with whom we work. Here we specifically mention our Ward Councillor Annette Deppe, various Johannesburg Council Departments who have gone out of their way to assist us, Sergeant Flantina Mohlamunyane from the Metro Police, Capt Dorasamy our Sandton Saps Sector manager and his colleagues with whom we have such a wonderful working relationship and of course last but certainly not least all the employees and the owners of Savika Armed Response who keep us safe in our suburb. As we get ready to welcome the New Year, let us reaffirm our collective dedication to the suburb of Sunninghill. Together, we shall continue to build our vision of a great place to live, work & relax in a secure and beautiful environment. We wish you all and your families- safety, good health, love and happiness over the festive season and if you do leave Sunninghill for a well deserved holiday, we ask that you take care, drive carefully and come home safely to us. NOVEMBER 2013 Focus on

    Dear Sunninghill Community,

We are approaching the end of yet another year, one that has brought many challenges and much success to our suburb. • WHATS NEW IN SUNNINGHILL Upgrading of Witkoppen Road going aheadCouncillor Deppe has been in contact with the Department of Gauteng Provincial Roads who have confirmed that the upgrading of Witkoppen road will begin in Sunninghill during November. Fibre Optic Cables are currently being installed in Sunninghill Park Business Node. Although we are aggravated regarding the disorder along the road sides, we are positive that the Business Community are pleased with the installation of these cables. The contractors have assured Joburg Council that they will repair gardens, tarring etc after completion. Welcome to Sunhill Centre as a full security and ratepayer’s member of Sunninghill Community. We encourage our residents to shop at centres that give back to our area: Sunninghill Village; Chilli Lane and Sunhill Centre.
