Arctic Materials - Technology objectives

• Fundamental studies of materials' behavior for cold climate applications – SINTEF Artic Materials II (AM II)

• Thermo-Responsive Elastomer Composites – TREC - by material formulation including negative thermal expansion filler: – Cater for seal contraction and may provide

additional energizing effect at low temperatures.

– Especially useful for low pressure sealing situations and in particular with gas.
