ARE YOU THE

BY KRIS KINVILLE OF TALKOFORLANDO.COM

For those who don’t know, who is IntricateMindz? & what is its mission?

The IM (IntricateMindz) is my idea of taking creative thoughts that I have & making it into a tangible piece of art to represent it. It’s also a network of creative minds. What is the philosophy/goal of your art?

“My mission is to forever be remembered as un-wavering in an unsure world. My passion is to create stunning photographs that inspire creativity and express emotion. I am a father, a lover, a friend. I am a student of life. I am military trained to be a weapon. I have seen many things and the visions not only give me inspiration but clarity. Vision is everything.”Your logo is clean, sharp and interesting. Much like your photography style. The “T” looks somewhat like a bird/cross. Is there signifi cance?

Well I’m from Pittsburg, PA originally and the colors are the same as all the sports teams there. (Black, white & gold) I’m pretty proud of coming from that area. It just seemed right to have those colors represent me. The ‘’T” represents “the” in The IntricateMindz, it was unusual so I chose it. There is really no other signifi cance other than that. How long have you been in photography? How did you get started?

I started in 2001. It was an interest that my mom had and I was exposed to as a kid. When I was in the military, I saw a lot of interesting places/things & I found myself wanting to capture those images.Where are some of the places that you have traveled? Any favorites? Or places that “captured” you the most?

I’ve traveled Iceland, France, Greece, Portugal, Italy,

England and Mexico. A lot of the places I have traveled were with the Marine Corp for a total of 8yrs. I lived in Spain. I loved Spain. I defi nitely want to go back there. It was a super carefree lifestyle. Everyone is honed in on how to really enjoy life. From the food, to the music, to the country, to the beautiful women, the beautiful people in general. I even found the bull fi ghting interesting and beautiful. (Laughing)Where does your inspiration for photos come from?

It comes from everywhere. Everything has energy. So I try to catch it in the moment & it becomes a photograph. I take photos of anything. I aim my photos around capturing that specifi c moment. I try to capture the raw product. I think that’s why people gravitate towards my photography, I’m able to capture. I capture “the story” behind the moment. What is your favorite medium? What has been your favorite subject to shoot?

I really don’t have a favorite subject other than life itself. My favorite medium is digital. I like the idea of being able to manipulate an image immediately & not have to wait to “see” what it’s going to look like. I like shooting anything that has involved music, music is my fi rst love. You’ve also have produced music/rap pieces. Is your inspiration for your music the same as your photography?

I’m really just an artist. I see photography as a form of art. I see music as form of art. I’m open to all forms of art. I think of it like a martial artist thinks of his style. It’s the style that I’m using at the moment to express myself. How do you feel about the scene in Orlando for the

ailing from the state of strong, resilient, men made of steel with the philosophy of “brotherly love” is this week’s “Talk of Orlando”, LeChon Williams of IntricateMindz Photography. His eye is unique, uninhibited and crisp. He has the ability to capture the moments in life

and show its true beauty with clarity and authenticity. No BS here people, his art is straight forward and in your face with a whole new angle! Orlando show your love to one of the best “breaths of fresh air” this city has seen in a while…

development of artists? I feel like it’s here for the taking. It’s open to do

whatever you want to do. You just have to do it. People have become successful from here. Some feel like they can’t be successful from here. You can’t just sit there & wait for it to happen. There aren’t really too many barriers if you really want something. What advice would you give to a new artist trying to break into the industry?

I would tell him just to break in! (Laughing) No one knows what you can & can’t do, no one knows what your words are if you don’t express them. You basically just have to go and do it. There is no logic to it. There is really only one thing that separates those who are successful from those who are not. It’s their thinking. Successful people don’t consider that they can’t. They say to themselves, “how can I do that?” Spend more time in the action of what it is you want to do, and the rest (success) will follow. What can we expect from IM in the future?

I think as I do more work with video and production you will see more of that aspect of my art. I recently have been considered a “photographer to the stars”. I will always continue to push the boundaries of my creativity. I plan to do more international traveling soon, so I’m excited to see where that takes me. Any shout- outs?

Shout out to Kris of TalkofOrlando.com for the opportunity to expose my art. Shout out to all my Street Noise Family, 91.5 FM, DJ M-Squared, DJ Lyvwyr, Marlon Holloway, Tek from Freshvilla and John, John the DON! Really the list is too long…there are a lot

of people that support my art & help me to keep my focus.

lyerPromoNow is back at it! We’re going 10 times Harder so stay tuned! It’s almost spring time and the parties are defi nitely starting to crank up beginning with 102 Jamz’s own DJ Nasty of the Grammy Award winning Nasty Beatmakerz Birthday Bash at Club Firestone on February 26th! On

this monumental day I had the opportunity to sit down with the movers and shakers in the music industry, the Nasty Beatmakers, and rap about the up and coming Double Platinum party at Club Firestone, a couple things going on in the music industry and of course making their next move their best move and where they go from here! If you are true to this music thing this is defi nitely an interview you wouldn’t want to skip over.

birthday bash?I’ve been doing the birthday bash for years,

probably about 10 years. That’s what’s up and it’s been growing every year....

Yea defi nitely we’re trying to make it grow every year. I did Ross like 3 times, so it was time to just put that on hold and switch up the lineup a little bit.

So you got Saturday night February 26th at Firestone, do you have anything else going on for your birthday?

That’s my main birthday party, but you know 1st Tuesday I’m gonna do something nice and sexy for my Latino’s and for my New York people at Dragon Room. I’m gonna bring Fat Joe. I’m gonna do 1st Wednesday at Vain. That’s like more for my city, that’s where I invite my Orlando artists like P.I. Bang, Kevin Cossom who’s on Jive Records now, and Bali who’s an artist on the come up too. So it’s like from the young guns to the dudes that fi nally made it. That party is all about Orlando at Vain. I’m also bringing my brother DJ Drama/Gangsta Grillz Affi liates. I gotta stay connected with my A-Town people too!How have you seen Hip-Hop grow in Orlando and what do you think Orlando needs next to make a national imprint?

Hip Hop has grown a lot in Orlando! Back in the days it used to be artists like 95 South, 69 Boyz, DJ Magic Mike and people like that who paved the way for Orlando. There hasn’t been an artist yet to comeback into the scene and elevate it to that next level. So I think we’re just a hit away. We have good artists here, we just need that solidifi ed hit to take it national and not just keep it in the Metro Orlando area. Orlando is full of producers, all the big producers are really coming from Orlando. So I mean as far as hip hop in that spectrum we are killing it!Are there any new artists on the scene that you listen to or are trying to break?

There are some new artists on the scene making moves like P.I. Bang, Bali, Kevin Cossom. I think he (Kevin Cossom) is almost there where he is going to get that national exposure, he just needs that one hit to kick in the door to let people know we’re here, that Orlando is here!I’m going to kinda change the tempo of things right now. Congratulations on winning the Grammy award! Do you feel that winning the Grammy award has made the Nasty Beatmakers offi cial?

Yea, most defi nitely it has. That’s like the biggest thing you can win in music. People respect that, they

respect our work.Have you’ll seen an infl ux of artists coming to you’ll and asking for beats?

Always. Everytime I see artists we’re getting grilled like “ Yo, Where my beats at?”. I just seen Birdman at the “Welcome to my Hood” video shoot and he was like “ Yo Nasty, what’s good man we made a lot of history back in the days... I need my music”. You don’t mess with Birdman you gotta defi nitely give him his music. You are a part of We The Best Management and DJ Khaled just signed to Young Money/Cash Money Records, How has that impacted business thus far and do you see that impacting things going forward?

Young Money/Cash Money was always Fam. I’ve been working with Lil Wayne early before we even formed We The Best Management. We did 3 records on the “Like Father Like Son” album and we did records on “The Carter 3”. So they were always family with Khaled as well from day 1 before he joined them. Now that it’s offi cial, it’s an open door policy. We always dealt with Birdman but now it’s really on and crackin! We get at everybody now.Where do you see yourself in 2015? What are your goals for the next few years and how do you plan to accomplish those goals?

Wow. Well right now we’re kinda taking a backseat, not saying that we are not making music but we are focused on the artists we are developing. Kid Famous, he’s a pop/rock artist from Orlando and he’s got like a dope like Disney kind of look but he spits raw and he’s crossover. We also got a kid named Shad Star from London, an R&B artist. He’s amazing like the next Usher, he’s a movie! So by 2015 we’ll be sitting back like executives making executive decisions and putting out artists.

LVM: We’re not only Hip-Hop. We’ve broadened our horizons to Pop, Rock, and all that stuff. As a matter of fact with these 2 artists we’re going to be able to do that, being that one has like a Pop/Rock feel and the other artists has a R&B/Pop feel. With that we’ll be able to branch out to other avenues and broaden our spectrum. So LVM you are the musical mastermind behind the production team, what brought you into really liking music and knowing that this was something you wanted to do?

Have you’ll seen an infl ux of artists coming

The Jackson 5! My dad always had a big record collection and one of the things we did was always listen to music. There was 3 boys in the family and that’s what we did, always listen to music. I never wanted to be an artist or nothing I just always wanted to play the instruments. Is there anything else you want to say about birthday weekend or any shout outs or anything you want to give?

Yea man. Birthday weekend is Double Platinum! “All I Do Is Win” is Double Platinum which is kinda hard to do these days especially with Hip-Hop. We’re double platinum so we’re celebrating that with my brother (Khaled) at club Firestone February 26th. It’s also the “Welcome to My Hood” party which the video just debuted for yesterday on 106 and Park. We co-produced that track as well. Ya’ll make sure ya’ll check that video out! We got cameo’s like a MILLION times in that video so defi nitely make sure ya’ll support that! Look out for new music from Busta Rhymes. We did Khaled’s next single for his new album. It’s a new style something he’s never done before. It’s always assumed that it’s one pattern when he drops a single but this is going to be something totally different and fresh so be on the lookout for that. Check out “Ashes to Ashes” Ricky Rozay the mixtape is out right now. We did the title track for that so go cop that album, download it, let’s get it! DJNasty.net. If you want to get at us my brother’s Twitter is @NastyBeatMakerz, my twitter is @DJNasty102. All producers, artists get at us we’re trying to take it to the next level! LET’S GO!
