OPTION 1 PLAN + DETAIL
CENTRAL SCULPTURAL FEATURE The central sculptural element is made of corten steel in the form of a large dish housing memory stones which hold special significance to the Flowerdale community. The dish is covered by a decorative wire frame lid with the Flowerdale tree motif as part of the design. The lid also has a hole in the centre allowing community members to add additional memory stones to the central sculpture. The sculpture to be designed by a local artist and or the Flowerdale Men’s Shed.
PLAN The ground plane is a spiral motif, surrounded by a commemorative gathering space. The spiral motif is made up of 13 segments in coloured granitic gravel or exposed concrete with 13 seating rocks and 13 native trees carefully placed within. The inward journey leads to a place of remembrance where a central sculptural element sits. The memorial is nestled between existing trees and the walking trail.

OPTION 2 PLAN + DETAIL
CENTRAL SCULPTURAL FEATURE The memory stones urn is a cylindrical pyramid, a focal point representing what the community has been through and how they have transcended their grief and loss. Made of metal and transparent, open to the elements. The urn has an opening at the top for the addition of more memory stones by the community. The cone like urn top is made up of 13 segments.
PLAN A series of concentric circles make up 13 segments representing those lost from Flowerdale. At the centre is a community inspired urn housing the memory stones of a grieving community. Surrounding the urn are 13 locally sourced seating rocks sitting in a grove of 13 native trees. The approach path is simple and unassuming with a discrete memorial plaque at the start of the entry path.
