This shawl is made in 3 steps. The first step is in Solomon’s knot lacework. In the second step, 13 flowers are crocheted and added one-by-one to the lace piece. In the third and

1. Make a 5 loop chain and join in a circle 2. Make a 5 loop chain, wrap yarn 4 times around hook, and on the 5th time pull

through to make a single loop to make two long “rails,” one of them of a 5-loop chain and the second, a long “rail.”

3. Make 2 solomon’s knots. 4. Wrap the yarn 4 times on the hook. Go into the center of the 5-loop circle you

made in the beginning, and do 2 triple crochets.

5. Do 2 solomon’s knots and wrap the yarn around the hook 4 times. Go into the center of the first circle and make 2 more triple crochets.

6. Chain 5 and move to the next row. Turn the work. 7. Next to this 5-loop chain, wrap the yarn 4 times around the hook and do a

triple crochet 8. Do 2 solomon’s knots, go in between the solomon’s knots on the previous row

and do a single crochet. 9. Do 2 solomon’s knots. Do 2 triple crochets, wrapping yarn 4 times before each.

10. 2 solomon’s knots. Do one single crochet between the two solomon’s knots of

the previous row, 2 solomon’s knots, 2 triple crochets (wrapping yarn 4 times before each).

11. Chain 5, turn the work for the next row. 12. Do 1 triple crochet next to the 5-chain. 13. Now the number of solomon’s knots has increased. Continue this way until you

have 25 triple crochets on either side, continuing in the middle (4-wrap, long), and the first stage is complete. Check carefully to make sure that the number

of triple crochets on the two sides and in the middle is 24, then cut the yarn.

To make the flowers:

1. Chain 6 and join in a circle. 2. Chain 5 and make one triple crochet by going into the middle of the circle (the

first 3 chains will be used as one triple crochet). 3. Continue chaining 3 to make one triple crochet. 4. When you have a total of 7 triple crochets, complete the circle with a single

crochet.

5. Begin a new row by chaining 4, and next to it, make 4 elongated stitches.

6. Chain 4, go in below to complete a small flower petal. 7. Move to the next section with a single crochet. Continue chaining 4 and making

4 elongated stitchess to create 7 petals. 8. Behind the petals, chain 5 and fix with a single crochet to make the foundation

for the large petals. 9. Chain 14, and next to it, make 5 elongated loops, as long as the 14-stitch

chain. They have to match up. Chain 14 back down and fix with a single crochet to make the first large petal.

10. Make 5 large petals in the same way. On the 6th large petal, make a connection from the 4th elongated loop from the place shown in the figure.

11. The connections are as shown below:

12. When you have finished adding 13 flowers, start with the lace and joing the flowers, surrounding all of them with double Solomon’s knot lace. On the 3rd and last rows, add a bead in the middle of the solomon’s double solomon’s knot as an ornament.

13. Of course you can use a different pattern to finish the edge if you like; that’s up to you; let your imagination run wild. New ideas are always good!

The shawl is complete.
