Pipeline Engineering’s pipeline pigging and flowassurance expertise, combined with PE Solutions’project management and engineering consultancyservices, enables us to offer specialist pigging andflow assurance services to oil, gas and processindustries around the world.

PE Solutions develops unique solutions for specificpipeline pigging and flow assurance requirementsusing specially developed and built cleaning pigs andexpertise in production cleaning.

Pipeline Engineering is recognised worldwidefor its range of pipeline pigs which includesfoam pigs, mandrel pigs, solid polyurethanepigs and spheres. Engineering expertise inPE Solutions enables us to design and buildSpecial Pigs to meet the exact requirementsof individual pipelines. This is achievedthrough detailed analysis of the issues,bespoke design and prototyping and finalproduction of pigs to provide the solution.

Computer Aided Design

‘State of the art’ CAD design capability allows PE Solutions to develop special pig designs.

Prototyping & Trialling

Prototype pigs are tested in our purpose builttest loops to allow further refinement toenhance performance.

Special Pigs Assembly / Manufacturing

Based on proving trials, designs are transferred to ourcomputer aided manufacturing system for manufacture andassembly. Quality components are utilised throughout,including our own Omnithane® polyurethanes, specificallydeveloped for the pipeline pigging industry.

Debris and deposits in a pipeline will increase turbulence inproduct flow, increase friction and decrease capacity. Expertisein Special Cleaning Pigs enables PE Solutions to meet therequirements of different pipeline environments.

Project Management

The PE Solutions Project Management team plans and implementsprogrammes to maximise pipeline flow. This team undertakesprojects such as:

> Surveying pipeline conditions such as ovality, ingressions, features, welds and corrosion

> Designing and deploying pig trains for a change in pipeline fluid, eg. oil to gas

> Engineering of cleaning pigs required to traverse complex pipeline features such as short radius bends, Y’s/T’s, valves and multi-diameter pipelines

> Leak testing of critical connections both subsea and topside

> Progressive cleaning of pipelines including heavily waxed and scaled lines
