Responsible to the University President for the overall administration and management of the university intercollegiate athletics program to include but not limited to: - Directing and coordinating all intercollegiate and intramural sports activities at the University within the framework of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC), Board of Trustees (BOT) and University policies. Works with the Office of Student Activities in developing plans and procedures for a viable intramural program for the University. - Supervises the personnel of the athletic programs to ensure that the goals and objectives of the programs are consistent with university policy. Works directly with the Head Coaches in the coordination and supervision of athletics' major and minor sports programs to include football, men's and women's basketball, baseball, softball, men's and women's track, volleyball, bowling, and women's tennis. - Responsible for establishing and implementing the University's policies and procedures for the overa1llntercollegiate Athletics Department. Responsible for all applicable University roles, NCAA and MEAC rules and interpretations and the implementation of all compliances that governs the University's Spons Programs. Remains in full compliance with NCAA, University, and MEAC rules. Determines student athletes' eligibility to participate in atWetics as determined by the NCAA Clearinghouse. Ensures the timely completion and submission of rcpons, adherent to specified deadlines. - Develop schedules for all athletic teams and intramural sports as appropriate. - Ensures that the student athlete receive appropriate awards/scholarships through the Office of Student Financial Aid. - Provides oversight and guidance to the Booster Club and its adherence to University and State requirements. - Represents the university as its primary spokesperson for the intercollegiate athletics program; Represents the University at alumni, civic and educational meetings to provide infonnation relative to the program. Responsible to the University President for the overall administration and management of the university intercollegiateathletics program to include but not limited to:

- Directing and coordinating all intercollegiate and intramural sports activities at the University within the frameworkof the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC), Board ofTrustees(BOT) and University policies. Works with the Office of Student Activities in developing plans and procedures for aviable intramural program for the University.

Facility Improvements and RenovationsEnhancements to McDougald Gym:• Installed air conditioning unit• Installed new bleachers• Remodeled all coaches and staff offices, designed and remodeled men's and women's

basketball wing with new locker rooms, new carpet and furnishings. Each wing wasenhanced with historical pictorial displays of individuals and teams.

• Converted existing space into a new thirty-capacity conference room for staff and EagleClub meetings.

• Designed and built new athletic training room.• Converted old weight room into student academic study hall and lab (project is

ongoing).

Enhancements to O'Kelly Riddick Stadium• Remodeled the exterior football team area.• Installed flags on the visitor's side acknowledging MEAC and OM Football

Championships.• Planted twenty Leyland Cypress trees along the fence on the visitor's side to beautify

the stadium.• Installed new pro-style lockers, carpet and black boards in football locker rooms.• Re-sodded the practice football field.

NCCU Athletic Hall of Fame• Reinstated the NCCU Hall of Fame Induction and Ceremony Banquet; renamed the Hall

of Fame to the "Alex Rivera Hall of Fame' after being dormant for twenty years.• Purchased new trophy cases with contributions from a private donor and remodeled

existing cases displaying the championship trophies NCCU won spanning over sixty

years.• Installed Hall of Fame Pictorial display with over two hundred individual and team

photographs covering all sports in McDougald Gym.• Implemented -Jersey" Basketball Recognition Ceremony in McDougald Gym. The

inaugural ceremony in 2005 recognized fourteen of NCCU's greatest basketball legendsby hanging their jerseys in the rafters.

Reorganization and Special Projects• Reorganized and hired additional staff to comply with NCAA Division 1 guidelines.• Implemented spring academic luncheons for students and professors to encourage

communication and an appreciation for sports.• Chartered the first airplane flight, (first flight in the history of NCCU), for football team

and supporters to winning game against SWAC football team, Southern University in2006.
