Clyde Pumps has been designing and manufacturing multistage pumps for many years. Ourextensive global operating and engineering knowledge has been incorporated in the designof the FK high pressure barrel pump to produce a world leading product best in its class. With features including full cartridge withdrawal, optimum efficiency hydraulic design andthe inherent ability to withstand thermal shock, the FK range pump offers the lowestthrough life cost of ownership.

Applications include all boiler feed pump duties and high-pressure water applications

including de-scaling.

Flows up to 3,500 m3/hr, heads up to 4,000m.Fluid temperatures up to 250 deg C. Materials options include, duplex, 13% chrome stainless steel, 2¼ % chrome steel and carbon steels.

Cartridge PulloutThe FK range has been designed to produce anadvanced pump with reduced whole life costs. For example, as illustrated in the cartridgeremoval sequence on the right, all the pumpinternals can be withdrawn quickly withoutdisturbing pump alignment or pipe work. Thishelps to save time and makes maintenancestraightforward.

Increased reliabilityThe Clyde Pumps "stiff shaft" pump designoffers greater reliability, allowing higheroperating speeds with fewer stages, andreduces the frequency of pump overhauls.

Simple maintenancePump internals can be replaced in a single working shift. This is made possible by the integration of all componentsinto one cartridge, including seals, bearing housing andpump half coupling.

Save timeAs the main cover studs are tightened the main pumpbolts tighten also, through the hydraulic tensioners -an extremely accurate method of applying the correctstud load - the cartridge can be removed and replacedquickly.

Secure operationThe Clyde Pumps design incorporates a fullhydraulic balance drum and generously ratedtilting pad thrust bearings to accommodate thrustloads. This allows the pump to operate safely intransient conditions without the risk of seizure orbearing overload.

Reduced auxiliary costs - through thermal shock designThere is no need to supply and install warming through systems forboiler feed applications when utilising Clyde Pumps barrel casingpumps, giving higher overall pumping efficiency. Generous internalclearances and axisymetric design ensure ability to withstandthermal shocks.

Higher through life efficiencyOptimum specific speed hydraulicsensure a minimum number of pumpingstages, reducing distances betweenbearing centres and increasing reliability. The impeller design is optimised toreduce pressure pulsations and vibration.

Running clearancesGenerous clearances profiled tomaintain efficiency and rotorstiffness.

Easy access Centreline foot, seal and bearinghousing are mounted externally to themain casing, making inspection andmaintenance straightforward tasks.

Long lifeOptimised suction inlet guideand impeller designs allowextended erosion free operation.

Quick overhaul"Lift-off" thrust bearing covers allowinspection in situ and replacement withoutdismantling, while mechanical seals are fullcartridges which require no seal setting.
