Note:

• This quickshifter kit is to be used with Arrow rearsets - standard shift kit A9750539. The Arrowrear set kit should be fitted and adjusted to therequired footrest position before beginning thisinstruction.

• Before fitting this accessory kit, ensure theowner of the motorcycle has been informed ofthe warnings contained in this instruction.

1. Remove the rider’s seat.

2. Disconnect the battery, negative (black) lead first.

3. Remove the fuel tank as described in the servicemanual.

Note:

• The front adapter has a left hand thread, the rearadapter has a right hand thread.

4. Loosen the two gear selector locknuts.

5. Release the two screws and detach the left handfootrest mounting assembly. Retain the screws forre-use.

6. Whilst supporting the footrest mounting assembly, turnthe gear selector rod until it is detached from the frontadapter.

7. Place the left hand footrest mounting assembly to oneside. Retain it for re-use.

NoticeThis accessory kit is for racing only. It is to be used solelyduring closed-course racing. A motorcycle fitted with thisaccessory kit must not be used on public roads.

WarningThis accessory kit is designed for use on TriumphDaytona 675, Street Triple and Street Triple R motorcyclesonly and should not be fitted to any other manufacturer’smotorcycle. Fitting this accessory kit to any othermanufacturer’s motorcycle will affect the performance,stability and handling of the motorcycle. This may affectthe rider’s ability to control the motorcycle and couldcause an accident.

WarningAlways have Triumph approved parts, accessories andconversions fitted by a trained technician of an authorisedTriumph dealer. The fitment of parts, accessories andconversions by a technician who is not of an authorisedTriumph dealer may affect the handling, stability or otheraspects of the motorcycle’s operation which may result inloss of motorcycle control and an accident.

WarningThroughout this operation, ensure that the motorcycle isstabilised and adequately supported to prevent risk ofinjury from the motorcycle falling.

WarningA torque wrench of known accurate calibration must beused when fitting this accessory kit. Failure to tighten anyof the fasteners to the correct torque specification mayresult in loss of motorcycle control and an accident.

WarningThis quickshifter kit is designed to work with Arrow rearsets - standard shift kit A9750539 and will not workcorrectly if fitted with the Arrow rear sets - reverse shift kitA9750536.

Fitting this accessory kit to the incorrect rear sets may leadto loss of motorcycle control and an accident.

8. Remove the wire clip retaining the transmission linkageball joint and detach the ball joint. Remove the balljoint and front adapter assembly. Retain the ball joint,front adapter and wire clip for re-use.

9. Remove the gear selector rod from the rear adapter onthe left hand footrest mounting assembly. Retain thegear selector rod if the motorcycle is to be returned toa non-quickshifter condition.

10. Remove the rear adapter and locknut from the lefthand footrest mounting assembly. Retain the adapterand locknut for re-use.

11. Remove the plastic end cap from the quickshiftersensor.

12. Ensure the locknut on the quickshifter sensor isscrewed on fully to the end of the thread.

13. Screw the quickshifter sensor into the left hand footrestmounting assembly, as shown.

14. Tighten the quickshifter sensor locknut, against thefootrest mounting assembly, to 9 Nm.

15. Attach the rear adapter to the quickshifter sensor andtighten to 9 Nm.

16. Move the locknut along the rear adapter until 5 mm ofthread is exposed behind the nut.

Note:

• The new gear selector rod has a right handthread at the smaller end, and a left hand threadat the larger end.

17. Screw the right hand threaded end of the new gearselector rod on to the rear adapter and adjust up to thelocknut. Then move the locknut away from the rod toallow for adjustment.

18. Route the quickshifter cable through the gear selectorrod aperture in the frame, as shown.

19. Attach the ball joint and front adapter assembly to thetransmission linkage.

20. Refit the wire clip to retain the ball joint. Ensure thewire clip locates correctly in the ball joint beforerotating the clip to the lock in position.

21. Position the gear selector rod through the motorcycleframe and attach it to the front adapter.

22. Turn the gear selector rod until it is approximatelyhalfway along the front adapter.

23. Refit the left hand footrest mounting assembly. Tightenthe screws to 27 Nm.

Note:

• When the top edge of the gear change pedal is5 mm above the radius curve of the footrestplate, the pedal is at the standard factory setting.

24. Using the measurement of 5 mm as a guide, turn thegear selector rod until the desired angle of the gearchange pedal is achieved.

Note:

• Before tightening any locknuts ensure thequickshifter sensor, sensor cable and gearselector rod have sufficient clearance in themotorcycle frame aperture throughout the gearselection range.

25. Using the spanner flats on the quickshifter sensor, turnthe sensor in a clockwise direction to position thesensor cable either along the top, or bottom, of thegear selector rod as required.

26. Check the quickshifter sensor locknut torque andre-tighten to 9 Nm if required.

Note:

• It may be necessary to move the gear lever up toaccess the rear locknut.

27. Tighten the locknuts at both ends of the gear selectorrod to 6 Nm.

28. Recheck the torque of the ball joint locknut and bothadapters after adjustment of the gear selector rod iscompleted. Re-tighten to 6 Nm if required.

29. Ensure the quickshifter cable is straight and taut.Secure the cable to the front ball joint and quickshiftersensor with two of the cable ties provided.

30. Ensure the cable ties clear the motorcycle framethroughout the gear selection range.

31. Trim off any excess from the cable ties.

32. Route the quickshifter sensor cable over the front balljoint, and around the transmission linkage as shownbelow.

WarningWhen securing electrical cables with cable ties ensure thecable ties are fully tight. Ensure there is slack in the cables.

33. Route the cable between the main frame and thecrankcase into the area below the fuel tank.

For the Daytona 675, the main harness connector for thequickshifter is located under the main harness connectorsfor the ECM.

For the Street Triple and Street Triple R, the main harnessconnector for the quickshifter is located under the fuse box.

34. Remove the blanking plug from the main harnessconnector and plug in the quickshifter connector.

WarningWhen securing electrical cables with cable ties ensure thecable ties are fully tight. Ensure there is slack in the cables.

35. Cable tie the quickshifter sensor cable to the mainharness as close as possible to the left hand side of theairbox.

36. Trim off any excess cable tie.

37. Feed the cable into the frame recess. Ensure there issufficient, but not excessive, free cable at thequickshifter ball joint to allow movement of the gearselector through the complete selection range. Cabletie the quickshifter sensor cable to the main harness asshown.

38. Trim off any excess cable tie.

39. Any excess cable is to be tucked into the spacebetween the main frame and the crankcase.

40. Refit the fuel tank as described in the service manual.

41. Re-connect the battery, positive (red) lead first.

42. Refit the rider’s seat.

Note:

• If it is necessary to adjust the gear pedal angle atany point after fitting the quickshifter, follow thesteps below.

43. Remove the rider’s seat.

44. Disconnect the battery, negative (black) lead first.

45. Remove the fuel tank as described in the servicemanual.

46. Remove the four cable ties retaining the quickshiftercable.

47. Unplug the quickshifter connector from the mainharness connector and release the cable.

48. Loosen the two gear selector locknuts.

49. If required, adjust the footrest position following theinstructions provided in the Arrow rear sets - standardshift kit A9750539.

50. Using replacement cable ties, continue from step 24.

Operational instructions:

• Due to the competition nature of the quickshifter,it is necessary to use a firm pedal force to ensurea smooth gear change.

• The quickshifter assembly will trigger amomentary engine cut to allow the gear toengage, without closure of the throttle oroperation of the clutch.

• The quickshifter will not operate if the clutch isapplied.

• The quickshifter will only operate for up-changes,the clutch must be used for down-changes.

• The quickshifter will only operate at enginespeeds greater than 2500 rpm.

• Use the clutch when selecting first gear fromneutral. The quickshifter will not operate whenchanging from neutral to first gear.

• The quickshifter will not operate when in 6th gearif an up-change is attempted by mistake.

WarningIf, after fitment of this accessory kit, you have any doubtabout the performance of any aspect of the motorcycle,contact an authorised Triumph dealer and do not ride themotorcycle until the authorised dealer has declared it fitfor use. Riding a motorcycle when there is any doubt as toany aspect of the performance of the motorcycle mayresult in loss of control of the motorcycle leading to anaccident.

WarningAfter fitting the accessory kit the motorcycle will exhibitnew handling characteristics. Operate the motorcycle in asafe area free from traffic to gain familiarity with any newcharacteristics. Operation of the motorcycle when notfamiliar with any new handling characteristics may result inloss of motorcycle control and an accident.
