RCIA Calendar – The next session will be on Wednesday, November 30, on One Holy, Catholic, Apostolic Church led by Bruce Peterson. We will meet in the St. Jerome room. This Holy Day of Obligation will be celebrated with a Vigil Mass on Wednesday, December 7 at 5:30pm in English, and Masses on Thursday, December 8 at 8:30am in English, Noon in English, 5:30pm in English, and 7:00pm in Spanish. Parish Council Elections – It's that time of year when we think about parish council elections. If you are a registered parishioner in good standing in the Catholic Church, are over the age of 18 and interested in running for parish council or know of someone who is, please fill out one of the nomination forms in the Narthex and drop it in the nomination box. Out of courtesy, please ask the person first before you submit their name. All names must be submitted by December 18. Message from the Finance Council – Please consider the Parish’s financial needs in your year-end giving plans. To assist with our parish’s growth, we hope you will consider an extra year-end offering to either our stewardship or building fund accounts. We are also prepared to handle donations of stock. Please remember that the collection at all Masses on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day are for the Clergy Welfare Fund. This is a very important collection but these funds do not stay in our Parish. Your prayerful consideration of our Parish’s financial situation is appreciated.

¡No falte! ¡Gracias! Our Lady of Guadalupe is the Patron Saint of the Americas. Mark Your Calendars – The St. Stephen Benevolent Society Annual Cookie Walk and Silent Auction will be December 10 and 11. Start your holiday season with a large box full of festive cookies for $10. Plan to visit the silent auction for holiday gifts. Some items in the auction include classic clocks, golf packages and gift certificates to local restaurants. Children can have their picture taken with Santa too! The event will be in the Family Life Center from 4:00-6:30pm Saturday and 8:00am-1:30pm Sunday. If you own a business or you are a vendor for a company, we would appreciate a donation for the silent auction. Please contact Debbie Bollinger (479)531-3717 or [email protected] for any questions on auction donations. All proceeds from this event are used to help the families in need. The Knights of Columbus continue to sell and take orders for gift cards every weekend through the holidays. We have increased the number of gift cards available to include several for only $10 for you to purchase and take with you. Please stop by and check out our expanded card selection. All proceeds go towards reducing the building debt. Spiritual Adoption (Sixth Month Developing Baby) Your spiritually adopted baby is developing quite beautifully now. His/her weight is approaching two pounds. Baby’s born prematurely at this time have a very good chance of surviving. The medical advances in caring for extremely small newborn infants are extraordinary indeed. Justice O’Connor has remarked that the Roe v. Wade decision is on a collision course with itself. Each passing year, we witness medical advances that allow our medical professionals to save younger and younger premature infants. O Emmanuel (An Advent Day of Recollection) with Sister Macrina Wiederkehr, OSB Saturday, December 3, from 9:30am-3:30pm. This day will focus on the beautiful Advent O Antiphons. In these ancient prayers of longing we express a desire for the coming of the Messiah. These prayers are cries from the heart that Christ, this time, be born in us. Cost is $50 with a $25 non-refundable, non-transferable deposit required at time of registration; lunch is included. For more information, or to register, call (479)783-1135 or visit stscho.org/retreat-registration. 50th High School Reunion – Class of 1967, Catholic High & Mount Saint Mary Academy reunion committee is looking for students of CHS and MSM who attended those schools as members including students from fall 1963 to spring 1967, both grads and former students. The month of November is dedicated to the Poor Souls in Purgatory – Remember to pray frequently for the dead, especially when you pass by a cemetery or when you recall a person you love who has died. Pray also for the most forgotten and abandoned souls that have no one else to pray for them, and for any souls who may be suffering in purgatory due to our poor example or some fault of ours.

Prayer for your dear ones in purgatory O most gentle Heart of Jesus, ever present in the

Blessed Sacrament, ever consumed with burning love for the poor captive souls in Purgatory, have mercy on

the souls of our departed friends and relatives (especially those who were near and dear to us in life). Bring them far from the shadow of exile to the bright home of Heaven where, we trust, You and Your Blessed Mother have woven for them a crown of

unfading bliss. Amen

Amen A Christmas Gift for Married Couples – Couples would you want to give each other something really special this Christmas? How about a gift filled with romance and excitement? That's just the beginning of what you will receive on a Worldwide Marriage Encounter Weekend (WMEW). The next WMEWs are at Subiaco, February 10-12, and Memphis – Our Lady Queen of Peace Retreat Center, April 28-30. Space is limited. For more information or to apply email Ben and Leah Brewer at [email protected], call (501)733-1235 or you may apply online at arkansaswwme.org/apply. A Women’s Religious Vocation Discernment Retreat will be held January 6-7 at the Diocesan Pastoral Center, 2500 N. Tyler Street, Little Rock. The retreat is for young women 16-35 years of age who want to learn and discern about Religious Life.
