From our Pastor….
Today, we begin the first Sunday of Advent which marks the beginning of our liturgical year (like January 1 marks the beginning of the calendar year). The word, “Advent” comes from the Latin word adventus, which means “approach” or “arrival.” We approach with anticipation the time of Christ’s birth (celebrated December 25), while recognizing his past arrival in time. We also approach the certain Second Coming of Christ at the end of time, while acknowledging that Christ has already arrived in our hearts and desires to grow in relation-ship with us. This Advent, allow Jesus to approach you in your weakness and poverty of spirit, sensing a likeness to Christ as a little baby. May His arrival at this time in your life give you a renewed sense of hope of your dignity as God’s beloved child, and that you are not alone in your struggles. I would also encourage you to use resources such as Formed.org, to help you enter more fully into the Advent season. Create an account at www.formed.org and enter the Parish Code PCWRCB. God’s Blessings,

ADVIENTO Por: Padre Jairo Congote
