God, make us instruments of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let us sow love.
Where there is injury, pardon.
Where there is doubt, faith.

Where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master,
Grant that we may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console,
to be understood as to understand,
to be loved as to love.
For it is in the giving, that we receive;
It is in the pardoning that we are pardoned,
It is in the dying that we are born again
to eternal life. Amen.

CONGREGATION’S JOYS AND CONCERNS
Living God, be known to us through our prayers,
both those spoken and those unspoken.
Help us to perceive your presence,
as near as our breath,
yet mysteriously hidden,
seemingly distant.
Help us to seek you as you are seeking us.
Speak your word of power and
make us true disciples of Christ.
Transform us through your fiery Spirit.
All glory be to you as you guide us and
chide us to be one with your purposes. Amen.

Welcome to all who worship here this morning. If you are new to our

narthex. Please join us in the front of the church following the service

It Couldn’t Be Done
Somebody said that it couldn‘t be done,
But, he with a chuckle replied
That ―maybe it couldn‘t‖, but he would be one
Who wouldn‘t say ‗til he‘d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
Then started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn‘t be done, and he did it.
Somebody scoffed: ―Oh, you‘ll never do that;
At least no one ever has done it‖;
But he took off his coat and he took off his hat,
And the first thing he knew he begun it.
With a lift of his chin and a bit of a grin,
Without any doubting or quiddity,
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn‘t be done, and he did it.
There are thousands to tell you it cannot be done,
There are thousands to prophesy failure;
There are thousands to point out to you, one be one,
The dangers that wait to assail you.
But just buckle in with a bit of a grin,
Just take off your coat and go to it;
Just start to sing as you tackle the thing
That ―cannot be done‖, and you‘ll do it.
