Fall Festival

It’s time to start planning for our annual Fall Festival! The date has been set for Sun-

day, October 29. This is a great way for us to reach out to our Smithville community

and it takes lots of workers and volunteers to help make it a success. Please be think-ing of where you would like to help. There’s a place for everyone! Last year we had close to 200 kids for Trunk or

Treat. Please watch your bulletin, weekly updates and the Octo-ber newsletter for further details.

Thank you FBC for supporting the kids in our community. We collected $500.00 for backpacks and also lots of school supplies were donated. Thanks to Pastor Dave, Randy, Joel and Dave Chiles for allowing our kids to throw water balloons and cool whip pies at their faces. I know the men enjoyed it as much as the kids did (maybe even more!) It was a great afternoon and all for a great cause...thank you all that donated.

Mark Your Calendars…

Coming in October we will be starting a new six week Wednes-day evening Bible Study. Childcare, children’s activities and dinner will be served prior to bible study. Please mark your calendars and watch for more details and a dinner menu in the October newsletter.

Kids Wednesday Activities

Come join us as we begin with a

new 12 week curriculum “Finding

Jesus Under the Sea,” and as we

learn about our walk with Jesus

and going deeper with our faith. Beginning Wednesday, September 13, from 6:30

p.m. to 7:15 p.m., we will begin a new year with new materials for kids ages kindergarten through

6th grade. If you would like to assist or can be a

back up person, please contact Jeff or Shelby

Eastep. If a nursery is necessary for workers, it

will be provided. Looking forward to a great new year!

St. Luke’s Northland Hospital (Smithville Campus), is sponsoring a community blood drive on Wednesday, September 6th from 12:30 p.m. to 6:30 pm. Donating

blood can help save many lives and there is always a need and a shortage. You can book an appointment at esavealifenow.org and enter sponsor code: Smithville or call Olivia Wilson at 816 547-0671.
